Just want to say a big hello to everyone. HERE IS A LITTLE ABOUT ME.

    1. Name--- Knabe. How did I come by this name. I do WW2 reinacting, and I portray this German Afrikakorps Officer.

    2. ORIGINS-----I live on the atlantic coast of America, in the state of Connecticut.

    3. AGE----As old as my nose, and a little bit older than my teeth....:) lets put it this way, I was a baby when IKE got elected. Nuff said.

    4. Specifices------ WW2 history ( Afrikakorps Firstly ). I'm interested in both the German and American history of world war 2 for I had family on both sides of the war.

    5. Hobbies----WW2 reinacting, shooting target matches with my WW2 rifles and pistols. Yes both American and German weapons. Big Band Music, German Music, Motorcycles, hunting, once again with my WW2 period weapons, and last but not least fresh water fishing.

    6. interest in other time periods.------I use to do cowboy action shooting in the early 1980s, and fur trade reinacting, representing the early 1800s in the 1960s-1970s.

    7. miscellaneous-----always looking for people interested in joining my afrikakorps unit here in Connecticut. We are all about having fun through living history. We are a lose knit unit and welcome all who are interested in WW2 history and fun.

Welcome aboard Knabe. Just curious about the hunting. I'm not real familiar with the Conn. terrain, but which WWII rifle do you prefer out of your collection for taking game?
    Look forward to your posts.

Hi Zippo, In Connecticut we are allowed to hunt deer with shotguns. But when I hunt out of state, like in Maine where I own land, I have used my m-1 garand, k98 mauser, colt ar-15 and or my mosin nagant. The terrain where I live in Connecticut is rolling hillsides with stands of beech trees and oak trees, great for turkey and deer. Knabe....... P.S. my favorite for hunting is my m1 garand hands down..........:)

I didn't know that you couldn't rifle hunt there. Used to do a lot of shotgun hunting when I lived in Mississippi.

Of the three rifles, which would you consider the most accurate Knabe? The k98?

Hey Zippo. Here in connecticut you can only use a rifle if you hunt on private property with written permission from the land owner, and the property owner must own a lot of acre's to allow hunting to begin with. I would have to say that my mosin nagant is the most accurate of the three rifles hands down. and let me say the the bores of all three are in perfect condition, with great rifling. The nagant just shoots the best out of the three. knabe

What WW2 rifles do you have? I'm a bit of a collector myself.
As far as your fur trade reinacting...ever do anything up at Michilimackinac, or dealing with? I have some connections there if you've got a group that might be interested. PM me sometime.
