I love what I've seen in this game's preview.

    http://www.flashpointgame.com/index.php?page=recon-us

They've gone to great lengths to capture realism in this game. The videos I've seen are great.

This game simulates a Chinese invasion of an Alaskan island and the U.S. attempt to take it back.

Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising will be released on all the major platforms.

So what do you think so far?

Unfortunately Wallyworld did not have this game yet. I might have to plan a weekend trip to Best Buy.

To sum up the paragraphs of rambling I could do..... It seems like everything that I had hoped for! This would be a big thing for me. I never had a game that lived up to my expectations. I should be taking names online sometime this week.

Expect me to have this on PS3 soon. I must have this game on full performance, and I don't think my computer is fully up to it. From what I saw of the first Flashpoint and both the ArmA's, all of which I love, this is going to be my game of the year. Forget MW2

That would be a bummer to have to go any route besides PC, even though I will most likely get PC and 360 because my friend doesn't have a good PC. I believe all the consoles won't be able to have map editing capabilities beyond the grief of only being able to play 8 instead of 32 people on a map. I have a tough time with console shooters.

    Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising:
    suggested system requirements:
Core 2 Duo 3 GHz, 2 GB RAM, graphic card 512 MB (GeForce 8800 or better), 8 GB HDD, Windows XP SP2/Vista.

Totenkopf: That is awesome that this game actually meets expectations!

oh my comp should be able to handle that. but then again, it should have been able to easily handle ArmA 2, but it lagged a lot.

ok. I'm going PC. Weighed the pros and cons, looked at the reviews, (which are underappreciative), and decided on PC.

Sorry guys, but Dragon Rising is dead. All the major community supporters have taken down their community sites and the modders have upped and left. It seems this game isn't what the COD/MaW guys wanted and definitely not what the OFP vets/Arma guys expected. It's a game that has an identity crisis. Not only that, but Consolemasters have stated there will be no dedicated server support, which means you will only be able to p2p host a server. =[

If you don't me about this game being dead, check out the chart on Xfire and Steam. I don't have the link to Xfire's stats anymore, mainly because I don't use it, but I'm sure some of you are xfire gurus.

red river is here and from what i have seen it looks a lot like Dragon rising. but the realism is very good in Dragon rising, especially the incorporation of body armour, i got my brother to play and this is what he said "it is too unrealistic" and that he thinks CoD is more realistic because it only takes a couple of shots to kill the enemy
