Hi ray and many thanks Mate. also my best wished for your Dad.

RR/ jamie cross is a wanker. I have had exchanges with him in the past but hes was and will always be a wanker. When I have more time/ ill tell you of a story of me trading two Imperial medal bars to a friend who traded them to him. These were both Bavarian bars and suddenly when jc placed them for sale on his site-these two medal bars also had nice fictional stories to go with them.

best wishes to your Dad Ray, speedy recovery; and stay healthy Carl !

sadly there are just too many strange folk offering militaria of all sorts not just German collectibles. Do wish we could apply a delete button permanently to Pawel and others

 This to advise collectors to beware. Pawel Nowak from Poland is back selling items such as daggers, helmets and pins and medals. You send payment by Western Union and he gets your money and you never get your items. Then he resells them over and over. Been doing this for few years.
You can google his name for more info. Beware !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

doggone I appreciate your telling us about this guy, but one thread suffices, I have already merged four of them which are basically identical. I think our rogues got the message that this Nowak guy is a piece of scum.

Sorry to hear that Siper, the reason why we left this thread open is precisely to prevent other collcetors for being scammed by this guy. You could send info to Polish authorities but I don't know whether it would be of any use. Have you asked the embassy for a proper address? They might tell you where to report your information.

jamie cross is a liar and thief itself. I know of several dealings it had with other collectors who I traded some of my stuff with for other things then they used part or all that I traded with them to make a trade with cross. I know of at least on three occasions that the items i traded-then was traded to that creep, suddenly had "stories" attached to them when they in fact, didnt have any. One case in point involved two Bavarian Medal Bars I traded to F/ who traded them to cross, and these two Bavarian medal bars-though very similar with same awards in the same places-were in fact, NOT from the same guy and I bought them over a year a part from Detlev Niemann. These two Bavarian medal bars were for an enlisted man only and they suddenly became the estate from a "highly decorated junior officer or NCO" when in fact, they had no such histories.

Let me guess....you paid 800Euro for a model 36 Chained SS dagger?! I know that my sentiments are not shared by most here but it takes a greedy person to get taken by the crime syndicate known as 'Pawel Novak'. He/they use photos from various Internet forums (items will have all sorts of different background to them) and then try to sell the items from email lists that are obtained through spurious actions. The hook is that the items are usually offered at a pretty steep discount...he/they always use the excuse that he/they are not collectors but just need enough money to fund his/their next expedition.

If someone contacts you about something for sale out of the 'blue'...what other human emotion could you possibly blame? If someone walked up to you in the street and said "hey man...I have this diamond ring for sale...only 800Euro..." you would laugh and walk the other way. But because it is militaria related greed takes over...you start to rationalize that the 'story' you are being told must be true...greed overrides your better judgment in this case.

I can feel empathy for people who are taken by the Nowak machine...but I certainly do not feel any sympathy for them. Five seconds is all it takes to plug someones name into a Google search...could have saved yourself 800 Euro.

Chistophe, nos membres Doggone et sirplus sont victimes de cet escroc. Recceswind nous a prevenu de ses méfaits. Il semble qu'il s'agisse d'un gang et que le nom soit un nom d'emprunt.

Christophe, our members Doggone and Sirplus are victimes of this crook. Recceswind has warne dus about him. It seems to be a gang and that the name is in fact a user name.

Rich, please take it easy: it's hard enough for people to get scammed , they don't need to be lectured on top of it to rub it in .

Like I said...I know that my stance on this issue would not be one shared by the rest of this forum...but I stand by my words whether popular or not. These people who buy from the Nowak machine are getting what they asked for in my opinion. What other venture in life would you simply shell out your hard earned money based soley off of a random UNSOLICITED email? If these folks had gone to a website and bought something and were ripped off I would be at the front of the line shouting and screaming in the name of the collector...but they didn't. I would wager to say that almost all TR collectors that know of at least one major militaria forum...there have been countless threads about this issue for years...literally YEARS!

I am not condoning what happened...quite the contrary actually. There is plenty of educational information out on the Internet documenting this syndicate...the collecting community has done a wonderful job making sure that the name 'Pawel Nowak' is easily found. People who are willing to hand over large sums of money using such dangerous methods as a Western Union Money Order to someone whom they didn't solicit is just asking for trouble in my opinion. I am not trying to "rub" anything in...I am just curious as to when folks are going to realise that the 'Nowak' scam is not a single individual but is more than likely an organized crime syndicate...and an effective one at that. Not you or anybody else on God's green earth is going to stop it...nobody has been able to for over a decade. The only way that this will ever stop is if people stop falling for this scam...the materials have been provided all across the Internet...all one has to do is a modicum of research.

You can lead a horse to water.....

On a related note...I would expect that my opinion would be respected here...you do not have to agree with me of course but I feel that I have contributed enough to this forum that I am entitled to my own opinion...no matter how unpopular it may be. I have not violated any of the forums rules with my postings...
