Anyone play it? If you bought the special editions of Modern Warfare 2 it came free with it but you can also buy it for $15 from the XBLA/PSN store. Basically the game is a enhanced version of the original Call of Duty.

First time I've played the original Call of Duty and I have to say, the game isn't very good! When the Germans aren't playing cannon fodder for your guns they're letting you run around France in a stupid civillian car with your guns blazing! It's almost like these guys watched bunch of Rambo movies when making the game and never changed the idea since!

They have some cool ideas though when it comes to setting, themes, etc like the training missions, the air raid sirens, etc. It also has multiplayer but I don't have Xbox Live Gold so I haven't had a chance to try it out. :(

The game for it's time was great. I still have the original COD, as well as the expansion pack United Offensive, COD, 2, 3, COD MF 1 and 2. All all through the series the game has virtually stayed the same. The Enemy still always shoots at you regardless of who else is there. On the Harder difficulties, the enemy can kill you without even looking at you, and the one thing that has stayed the same, the levels are great and original.

The game of course due to its age, obviously can not compare to the Modern Warefare games in terms of graphics and physics, but the stories were loosely based of real units in ww2.

Also if you didn't notice while playing COD 1 Captain Price is in it, yes the same one in both Modern Warfare 1 and 2. He still sounds and looks the same, and still hasn't advanced in rank in 60 odd years. lol

ya, one thing I've always hated about the CoD games is that sniper rifles act as a magnet for enemy fire, oh well. The first CoD is a great game, I've been working on and off on a Veteran run through.

I bought it the day it hit xbox live and I was really excited for it. However I expected too much andw quite disappointed with it. It just felt too dated, the AI was horrible, the textures look really bad and I can't get used to going back to having a health bar, now I should of known all that before I bought it but I still play Call of Duty 2 (still to this day my favourite COD) and that isn't much older. With COD 2 it feels old but still new enough to enjoy. Maybe it was because it was a PC port but on the xbox 360 Call of Duty Classic feels like a Beta/Work in Progress to what COD 2 is.

well, CoD2 was made about the time when a big jump forward in graphics occurred. If you don't like a game because it feels dated then honestly you are missing out on a lot because there are several old games that are great. Honestly I prefer the health bar system to regenerating health, the regenerating health makes games way to easy honestly.
