My copy has arrived - as always with anything published by Robert Sigmond, a real treat for anyone with a genuine interest in Arnhem.

The book has been largely created around the private photo album of a German PzKwIII crewman whose unit was one of those 'scraped together' to form Kampfgruppe Knaust in the battle. Being personal snapshots, they show many views , especially around Arnhem bridge, unfamiliar to me. Other photos have been carefully chosen to include lesser-known ones.

As is now expected from Robert Sigmond, production quality is exemplary with good-quality glossy paper, an attractive 'cuff-title' styled dustjacket and - a nice touch - tucked in the back is a facsimile of the German Army 1940 map of Arnhem.

Excellent - highly recommended - buy one quickly before they sell out !

I missed the signing session in Oosterbeek with the authors. I got quite a few Sigmund books the last six months. Am dying to get this one too, but I am buying a house and funds will not be readily available I am afraid...:(

Stevin, your priorities are all wrong ! ;) :D

I'm enjoying this book very much - in addition to the obvious focus on Arnhem, there is an interesting section on the subsequent fighting in the Betuwe - the area between Arnhem and Nijmegen. Again, many very good photos, including a good selection of knocked-out Panzers including Tiger Is,

Just a quick note to say that in mid-Summer a 'companion volume' was published - 'Arnhem - A Few Vital Hours' authored by Scott Revell with Niall Cherry and Bob Gerritsen. This covers the actions of SS-Panzergrenadier-Ausbildungs-und-Ersatz-Battalion 16 at Arnhem. The book is ( as always with Robert Sigmond ) a high-quality, well-illustrated publication and is in the same style as the previous title.
Together, they offer valuable insights into 'the other side' at Arnhem.

Move fast before all copies are sold.............
