As you all know I care not much for that company-and that I rarely have anything good to say about them but, yesterday i was flirting about-gopt bored and just happened to saunter into a local WM. I was about to leave after picking up the one item I needed-but instead-my feet took me away from the exit doors all the way back to the Electronics Dept. I gravitated towards their DvD racks and saw the usual Friday the 13th crap and other like titles for sale. However, my eyes almost popped from their sockets when I saw wuite a few great classics for sale. I snatched only 3 titles as thats all I had left on me to spend. I got: Spartacus, 300 Spartans and a Ray harryhausen Sci-Fi classic-for $18 bucks and change. Anyway, I saw quite a few other great titles for sale like: Ben Hur w/ Charlton Heston. The Quiet Man w/ Duke. Spartacus w/ Douglas and Curtis. 300 Spartans w/ Richard Egan. Darby O'Gill and the Little People w/ SIR Sean Connery. And a bunch of others. Anyway, walmart scored a home run w/ me yesterday.
Got some great one's there Carl! Nice score! I'll have to make a trip to their bins too! They once in a while have a great deal! Like that John Wayne foursome I got!
Hi Luke, Scott, Luke, don't let the bastards get you down. They know they have you by the jewels and also because of the bad econony. I worked for them starting at the age o 18 aand worked there for about 3-4 years and left-not because of management at the time but, nobody cept dept mgrs at that time, worked fulltime. I tried to get more hrs and was constantly lied to-so I told them and I really did: I told them to Take this job and shove it-and i got a fulltime job working for Godfathers Pizza-located mere feet from WM. Scott, quite welcome. They have several great Duke movies available, as well as some Sean Connery stuff, some great Heston movies-such as Ben hur, The ten Commandments and Arrowhead-all favorites of mine ;-)), Jeffrey Hunter (King of Kings) and some other stuff. I couldn't believe it when I saw they had Spartacus as well as 300 Spartans. Seeing both thse and that Ray Harryhausen movie-got me in the mood for watching some great Sword and Sandal movies. The Harryhausen movie is: The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad. I forget who plays Sinbad-possibly Kerwin Mathews?? he movie has a Brit favorite of mine in it--Torin Thatcher.
That's a good deal Carl between 4 and 6 euros is the price we pay for those classics ,I recently got the dirty dozen and the seven Samurais for 2.99 each
Now that I'm the manager over the whole entertainment "metroplex" I notice the movies more...there have been some great titles in the value bins!
My dad got a box set of no less than 16 john wayne movies for 5 or 10 bucks and I picked up a double feature Steve McQueen set for 5 at wally world. They're convenient most of the time, but when I really need something, they always seem to fail me....
Hi Skipper, they even had others for $5 each but, all the ones I was interested in-I alread had ;-)) I wish I could get The Seven Samurai for what you paid for it. I looked at a couple of sites and the price is from $30-$45.
