Is Semper Fi, a patch or is it a mod?

    I'm confused

No, it's an expansion pack including a lot of new features and improvements to the game. Patches didn't make this game to work (ok, it's working, but not the way people would like it to work), I really hope that this expansion will do the work.

Hmmmmm....expansion. Why couldn't they do these changes as a patch?

and do you need to be all patched up to make this expansion work

(I havn't bought the game, as I have heard many issues with it.)

    I will buy it tho..once I here it's fixed it's many problems

Its mostly due to the game coding. A bunch of these changes require them to re-code entire parts of the game, something which couldn't be applied through a patch.

The game certainly works fine, just like every game has annoying parts in it as well as bugs and some errors.

I appoligize, but I'm to lazy to read the parodox tread, but is there a date for this to come out yet? Looks pretty good to be honest.

It is supposed to be released during Q2, so at the latest at the end of July I suppose.

I hope they work on diplomacy, at least a little.

The sooner the better, as far as I am concerned! Our Allies MP game is coming to a close - I've invaded Japan (Nagasaki was left unoccupied, so I landed marines) and we're massing our troops for war with Russia. Supply issues in China hampering our efforts there, but the Japanese are finished for all intents and purposes. At the rate we're playing, we'll have taken out Russia a bit before Semper Fi comes out, so can start a new game using it!

I'm assuming when you say "Allies MP" you mean multiplayer game vs other humans.

So my question to you is, would I need highspeed (DSL) to play?

Theres a thread about our Allies MP game (Me = USA, Joe = UK, MikeBatzel=France vs the AI) but I would assume you'd need a decent connection to keep the stream of information going. We occasionally get 'lag' issues, where I will be a few days ahead of the others - pausing until they 'catch up' usually helps. You'll need to be able to devote a few hours at a time to online play though.

hmmm...in regards to time, that's not an issue, I play for hours all the time :)

Would you be interested in adding another player (under the right conditions of course)

    If you don't want to, that's fine..you can't hurt my feelings :)

Certainly. We need a player for Romania in our Axis game (the person who had been playing hasn't played in a while). As for our Allies game, you could certainly join that one as Canada - SOAR played as Canada for a bit and I actually have Canadian troops holding the line in Romania right now! (all upgraded to American-grade weapons as they were 'gifted' to me.

I am out of town for the next week, but we normally play on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (though usually not all 4 days, as one or the other isn't available). On Monday and Friday, I'd say we start playing around 6PM EST, while closer to noon on Saturday and maybe 4PM EST on sunday.

That is, when I wake up by noon! Axis game may be better left of dead until Semper Fi comes out. I wasn't too happy about the screwed up Romanian invasion of Mexico.
