Cheers Biak, it was in a shoe box at our local flea market along with other French maps medals and pictures. The box was bought by a friend who then offered me the map.

    Nice Rifle belt Rich

Finnish Waffen-SS volunteer“s "member“s badge". Made in Finland originally. Can be attached to the military belt etc. The size is pretty small 4x3 cms actually.

My newest Auer German GM . The Mask is Czech made and dated 1940, the filter 41 . The Auer box has its strap and the painting is great too.

That is a really nice gas mask and canister, Skip. The filter is marked '41' indicating it was made in 1941, and you even have the protective screw cap to go with it too!

I'm a sucker for German gas masks and have around 12 in my collection in a number of variants.

What number is moulded in to the rubber beneath the tab between the eyepieces? This will indicate what size the mask is, either 1, 2 or 3 (1 being the smallest).

    It's a 2 John.

Considering you know quite a bit about these , I have a question: I picked a small filter, but the seller had a whole bunch all dated 41 or 42 but some were taller (but same diameter). I had not seen those befroe so I left them. Are those worth buying too?
He wanted 8 euros for each filter. I paid 40 for this whole set , he ha sno more boxes n but he still has another mask available which I consider buying for 30 .

I'm afraid it's not like the one from your link . They are exactly alike the one I bought yesterday but a cm or two taller. If i can't identify them I'll buy the other mask with a "classic" type filter combination. Also colours vary, they go from Feldgrau to blue and even black .

    Nice portrait pic, Erich.

I've seen that type of filter before but don't exactly know the difference.

I'm no expert on gas masks and filters, but maybe this type of filter has more filtration layers for more protection in certain environments?

    Great Panzermann pic Erich .

Kai, good autograph to have in one's collection.

John , Since all the filters look genuine I may buy a bunch next week (if the seller still has some) . Considering I have empty cannisters a thome a mask and filter would make another full set.
