    what if Japan captured china?

    I imagine that it would have then taken much more than two atom bombs to get them to surrender. This would have made it much harder for the allie's to defeat the Axis powers as they would control the entire continent pratically.

    You would have to be one hell of a warlord not to surrender, after two atom bombs dropped on your homeland. ;)

    If Japan had captured the entire of china, the japanese army could be facing even more serious shortages of manpower and material. The Chinese terroritory is huge and the terrain just as bad as in Southern Russia without proper rail system and roads.

    The Japanese could simply be overstretched, leaving gaps in their defence of other parts of the Japanese empire.
