When Operation Market Garden disrupted wartime play at Moor Park Mansion (From Watford Observer)

Moor Park Mansion is the elegant setting of the club house belonging to members of the synonymous golf club.
But for four weeks during World War Two, the grand house became the centre of the British war effort as military chiefs planned a parachute drop over the Dutch town of Arnhem.
It was in February 1944 that planners from the Airborne Corps moved into the mansion.
