There are not many jagdtiger pictures. The most famous one is probably the one with the vehicle on a light slope against a tree. (You remember the picture?) Well, you see this picture a lot but I think they all show it wrong. I think you should use a mirror. Am I wrong or are all those other people wrong? Please tell me

I do not recall seeing but a few photos of them, but in what books-I do not know. It is a rare "cat" to be seen though. I do not recall the one you are talking about, do you have a way of scanning the photo and posting it here? if so, I would like to see it. [IMG] [IMG]

I do not remember this Pic...I think the two most famous photos are

One with a Jagtiger abandonned in the middle of a german town

The other with two Jagtiger surrending to US troops in an Eiffel little city...

I don not see the pic you are talking about....maybe better to post the photo

    Comet, Wittmann, Carl and others.....

Have you seen the one pic of the Jagdtiger of the Schwere SS Panzerabteilung 501 in Strengberg ? This monster was left behind here as the SS battle group was retreating from the Russians into the American lines. The pic is a bit grainy but shows Russian/US forces in the foreground at the surrender with the abandoned beast in the middle of the road. What an awesome piece of machinery compared to the Russian SU in the front of it. The SS abteilung had 2 Jagdtigers at it's disposal on May 5, 45.

Wittmann, I know there is a link to your site here somewhere, but for people like me, could you repost it here, im interested in seeing that photo.

Dear Erich, I havent seen that photo, is it possible you can put it here? Unfortunately, the only photo I have of a Jagdtiger, is in the game: Eastern Front, and is only a small gaming icon. :(

Dear Erich: At least you have a computer, me, im still in the stoneages        but, there is hope for me yet
    :D

I would love to see those luft photos, I have so very few luft photos worth looking at. Also, I just got shafted on a two photo lot showing German tanks fording a river, and another one was a great shot of a panzer commander in the turret wearing the overseas cap. The river photo was an early war one, all the crew had panzer berets. The person who beat me to it apparently priced these two photos at least double what I thought they were worth. My last bid was $75.00, and I think this guy has them for about $150.00 which is waaaaaaaay too fragging high.

Oh well, thats what happens when you get cought up in a bidding war.

    Carl :

You'll get there soon I know it ! Was the bidding done on e-bay by chance ? have you tried www.manions.com at all ? Some pretty interesting stuff, but of course you must first become a member and you bid against hundreds, but sometimes it really pays off though. I've gotten some nice little items and a few pics that nobody seemed interested in.

There is a Schiffer Publishing book entitled "The Tiger Family" containing about a dozen photos of the Jagdtiger.
About half are knocked-out or demolished specimins.
My fave is one showing a Jagdtiger either killed or destroyed by crew (the roof is missing, and the main gun looks way 'out of kilter') resting port side down on a small slope with a lone G.I. posing along side the main gun. He has his .45 handgun resting on the barrel (for a sense of scale?)
Don't possess a scanner, or I'd try to include it here.

    UPDATE:
Looking at the book got me curious...
It is available at schifferbooks.com, along with a veritable plethora of other titles...

Dear Wittmann: Tanks for the very nice photos on your site, and I am now jealous. I have only two photos and they are of only Assault guns, or SP's. [IMG] [IMG] You have some great photos though--my compliments :D

O.K. Wittman, the answer is that you have a picture that has been reversed. The hull m.g. port should be on the vehicle's right side, not the left. That's it.

Great website you have. I just added it to my bookmarks.
