Very interesting tank rescue from lake

I apologise in advance if this has been posted before. I was searching for something else, and came upon it. It's fantastic that this unusual piece of history has been preserved in this state. Gobsmacked that they managed to fire up the engine too!

looks a lot more like a 1943 model rather than an 'a', but what incredible condition it's in nonetheless.

Brilliant update, thanks. But what a shame they didn't keep the 'original' German markings, as that would have been truly unique, I think?

I think it would have been appropriate as well if it had been left with the German markings.

 

Very impressive.

Incredible that tanks/vehicles like this are still being found and recovered. The story of how it was discovered is great- kid sees evidence years ago and still remembers it.

Also...

So... was there a discussion going on about how reliable T34s were?
