Someone on another forum flagged this one up. Can't believe the amount of detail this bloke's packed into a 1/48 scale aircraft! Hellenic modellers official website / HEL.MO. - 1/48 Tamiya Avro Lancaster B.MkIII by Alex Kontiveis Wish I'd stuck in as a kid. And as I type this, I'm watching a rerun of Antiques Roadshow from East Kirby airfield with the real thing taxying.
That is incredible. I'm surprised it wasn't fully operational, the amount of detail. It's so nice to see this sort of skill and dedication producing something so great to look at rather than carving entire villages out of a single match and the like. This man should be better known.
a work of art..and in 1.48th scale, makes even more so, with great detailing..the cost? and time? to do it?
Insanely great. I get that crazy with 1/24 scale stuff. All that in 1/48 is certifiable. There was a guy I know in IPMS who super detailed a 1/72 Wildcat. Complete with working brass landing gear. Think about that.
