Garfield creator apologizes for ill-timed strip

The explanation seems legitimate enough, if anything, the publisher should be apologizing.

I agree with Davis, the publisher using that day for the release of a strip penned long ago shows the publisher's ineptitude, not Jim Davis'.

Well siad Gents. I always liked his Garfield toons. I dont think Jim Davis has a bad bone in his body with anything dealing with Vets and the USA.

Is there really nothing better to post?
By posting that article you are doing nothing but perpetuating the irritation and inflamation of the original publishing.

I don't see anything wrong with the post, nor do I recall posting or even linking to the comic in question. It's a relevant topic in many ways and many forum members are even fans of Davis's work.

Instead of taking your anger out on me, why not the Associated Press who published the article in question? Surely more eyes will see that then the 20 views this forum thread has gotten?

No, I prefer to take it out on you and the others who insist upon reposting news articles that have even a vague reference to WW2 or the military in general.

This is not the National Enquirer or any of the myriad other tabloids that litter supermarket checkout isles.

If you are going to insist upon posting such meaningless and inflammatory news articles at least have the decency to include your own thoughts on the matter or maybe even a thesis statement as to why you felt compelled to share the article.

This article is a "non issue" and I am sure was relegated to the back page right below the cricket standings and the Lindsay Lohan fashion tips.

Isn't the free fire zone supposed to be for non-WWII general discussion?

Perhaps you haven't realized but this is the Free Fire Zone, you know, where such topics can be posted? If I had posted it outside of the FFZ, perhaps your argument could have some validity to it.

And it's funny how you single me out, someone who rarely creates topics as is.

No, I am not singling you out at all, I have commented on Nigel and Ray's posts as well.

Ya know, Brad does make a valid point and I never thought about it that way. I sit on the fence on this one though ;-)) Yeah, I know, it's a sly way out of it ;-))

    Y'all cool it.

The FFZ is intended for just this type of thing, as long as we don't go overboard with it, so that it becomes our raison d'ĂȘtre.

    Carry on Mehar.
