I'm planning on starting a collection of WW2 weapons but i'm having a problem with finding places that sell them. Price isn't really an issue for me, but wherever I go, they say they don't sell em'. If anyone could please provide any websites that sell WW2 weapons i'd greatly appreciate it. Thankyou for your help:)

You are fifteen years old and you want to buy a tommy gun!?

Don't take this personal but I'm happy that you don't find anyone who wants to sell you one. Why not have a go at building scale models instead, it's just as much fun and you won't be seen as the neighbourhood threat.

    Best regards/ Daniel

    ILLEGAL!
New gun laws don't allow WW2 weapons (Thompsons, Garands or M1 Carbines) to be sold anymore unless certifiably deactivated, and only to be used for display, or reenactment purposes.
What you could try, is ringing film prop centres, especially of the type used on BOB, and get your hands on some rubber mockups.

Other than that, go to Malaysia, or Thailand, or Bangkok where you would have no trouble procuring an entire chest of WW2 ordnance including Thompsons and Colt .45 M1911A1s, for about US$4000.

    Panzer,

I don't know exactly what country you live in, but here in the good ole' US of A you can still purchase WWII weapons in good working order. While Mr. Clinton made it impossible to import working WWII weapons into the country, you can still purchase the ones that are here.

This goes for 98k, G43, StG44, MP40, MG34, MG43, Garand, Carbine, BAR, Tompson, .30 cal, .50 cal weapons. Trouble is the cost. To get a live fire StG44 nowadays will run you around $9,000. To get a live fire MG34 nowadays will run you around $20,000.

Bottom line, if you've got the $$$ and the firearms license to get them, they're around for the purchasing.

Sorry, I should've been more specific in what i was looking for. I just want to buy a non-working Thompson or a realistic life size replica to put on display in my room.

Ok, try a search at the militaria auction sites, I've seen some good replicas of Band of Brother things.

I saw a place that sold paintball guns that are dressed up as Tompsons, and many other WW2 Rifles, I can find it for you under request.

Thompson's are illegal to own in the USA. That I am certain of. Other rifles, no, they are not. My good friends father owns a Mauser, I personally own 2 Mosin Nagants. Both of which i purchased at Big Five for under $100.. both in excellent condition. Mausers/Mosins are cheap to purchase.. "for everything else, theres mastercard" [IMG]

I don't see anything wrong with a 15 yr old owning a gun as a collectable, myself. I am 17 and own 2 WW2 rifles as collectables, and may take them out to the range once or twice just to see what they really were like. My grandma is giving my father my grandpa's M1 Garand from WW2.. I can't wait to see that thing [IMG]

this totally depends on the individual stae and their requirements for a gun registration. It is fully leagl in Oregon where I live, and I own a Panzerschreck 54 but had to many years ago register it through my local police agentcy and from their it was tagged through the states system. No ammo for it, well at least at this time so it has been deemed a ww2 relic and no-existing operation.........or is it ? ;)

In any case I know of seeral in my communtiy with MP 40's and MG 42's, bazooka's and artillery pieces.

You have a panzerschrek? Wow, I didn't even know that you could own one of those without getting arrested. Well, if the thompson is illegal to have in my state, i'll just settle for something else.

Colin check with at least two reputable gun-smiths in your area. They would know the laws concerning semi and full auto weapons systems.

My panzerschreck was purchased 35 years ago from a gunsmith whom really knew nothing of what he had. Purchased for 15.00 US complete with protective shield and two extra pieces of bullet proof glass. during the junior high years of my life I went immediately to a sergenat friend in the police force and had it registered though back in the 1960's this was not required. At this early age I could see the hand writing on the wall with rifle and gun restrictions......

believe it or not a 900.00-1500.00 US non usable Pz Schreck can still be found in the odd online militaria sites. unfotruantely they have usaully bored out the sides of the barrel to make them un-operative.

If you ever procured some ammo for your panzerschreck, would you ever test it out? I don't mean on tanks and people, but on some firing range.

not on tanks or people ? why not ? ;)

I actually have had two oppourtunities to fire it with live ww2 rounds but have had to decline. I really do question the electrical circuitry of the piece.

Hahaha...if there had been a malfunction there would have been a lot to say at your funeral.

Actually no there probably would not be one word mentioned about the stovepipe. I had been advised to contact security/police forces and take them to the shooting range north of town IF I acquired one to several rounds of ammo......

Automatic weapons are fully legal in Texas as well. Erich is correct, in Oregon you can own a fully automatic weapon. However, just across their border to the State of Washington, they cannot own any automatic weaponry.
