    Hello everybody,
I have decided I will wright a book as a fun little project. It is going to be based on the 101st airborne during the Battle Of The Bulge and it will consist of there defence at the begining and the Battle's of Bastonge and Luxembourg (Don't know how to spell that just yet). I have been having imidiate trouble with reasearch though. I am trying to figure out what Battalion/Company/Squadron/Regiment that these "Made up" men will be in and how many people each consist of. All I have found that is a little accurate is this:
What’s the difference between a squad, a platoon and a battalion? And, while we’re at it, a company and a regiment? | Mental Floss: Fact of the Day
So I am clueless as to what company and squad and stuff. If you have any links, pictures, or just raw wording please put them in here. This is what I have got so far: D company 2nd Battalion 4th Para's. Is that correct/properly worded? Please help guys :D
Another thing: Any videos are also big help. I found one that will be helping me a lot:YouTube - ‪SHOOTOUT!- The Battle Of The Bulge 1/5‬‏
    Thanks!
    Nolan

"Luxembourg" in French , "Luxemburg" in German: both spellings are okay.

Is the entire book going to be non-fiction?

I would double-check your geographical facts: the Ardennes Offensive didn't take place along a front from the North Sea to Switzerland (and that distance is a lot more than 85 miles) ;)

Yes sir! It is going to be more of an "informational" text.

    Tactical,
I think the first question for anybody who wants to write a book is why do you want to write a book?

If you are writing for personal accomplishment and to advance your knowledge you should have fun but know this that writing military history is one of the most difficult histories to write and when you make errors, you will have the whole ETO come down on your head :)

That's true 73; and make sure you really do your research on this one Tank - I don't think you'd want Babe Heffron or Wild Bill Guarnere picking up on any errors, because they are the men who lived through it all, and came out the other side with first hand experiences of what you will be writing.
