Hi, everybody - I would like to introduce myself. I am a retired Norwegian ex-army officer and aviation employee (operations). I also have some experience from the defense industry and publishing. I have been a frequent visitor on ArmchairGeneral and the AxisHistoryForum and thought I'd try some new grazing grounds. I have presently written a book on Operation Sea Lion. For that I had much use of all the discussions I participated in on the various military forums. My two next book projects shall cover the planned German operations Felix and Herkules - the working title for that one is The Twin Pillars. My second project is about the German assault on Norway April 9th, 1940. This one shall have a twist to it in that it isn't a story on Weserübung as such but shall, considering the marginal German successes in the initial phase, rather cover the unused potential (little known) of the Norwegian defense system on the first day and the f***-ups caused by the Norwegian politicians. As such, it shall not go beyond April 9th, other than in general terms. The working title on this one is Days of Infamy, playing on Roosevelt's speech after Pearl Harbor, and just as infamous. In due time I am planning to put up threads on the various aspects of these operations and hope for some cooperation. Looking forward to spend time with you here. Fred
Fred, Welcome and welcome again. I look forward to your good contributions to our discussion. Is your book available in English? Feel free to discuss as you like.
Nice to meet you Fred and welcome aboard! I look forward to seeing your posts on those subject matters.
Fred will you be covering just the land invasion of Norway or the German Navys participation as well ?
Thanks for the welcome everybody! Erich: There shall be a lot of Kriegsmarine stuff. After all, much of the German effort on the first day (April 9th) swivelled around the navy.
Glad to have you aboard Fred. I look forward to your posts since this is an area of WW2 that I am not very familiar with.
