    Similar to the "what gun model is this?" thread but this time, we're quizzing about plane models...
    ok, can someone figure out this odd one?

    I have no flatbed scanner (just a page "roll through thing") so (at present) I've no ability to post my pics.
    Go ahead and put up more, but I doubt you'll fool many here.
    I believe we all have books that contain virtually everything made back then.
    It's still fun though.
    I've got "flash cards" of ww 1 - today.
    I should have been an anti-aircraft gunner?

    Not real sure, but I'd shoot at it!
    Looks like:
    Macchi M.C.200 Saetta
    M.C.200 (Serie I-XXI) and M.C. 201
    except for the cowl & extended head rest.
    The tail plane is not Macchi! More like
    Fiat G.50 Freccia and cowl too.
    It has characteristics of both & neither
    This one with Finnish markings, and an Eastern front yellow band.
    The painting looks like a "Step-Child" of both.

    The Macchi had wing guns so I'll go with the Fiat.
    Either the 50bis, 50ter, or the 55 Centauro of which I don't have pictures (only the G.50 Freccia)
    35 of the Fiat G.50bis were flown to Finland.

    I did some more reading...
    The Fiat G.50 bis had (different from original G.50) longer range, self sealing tanks, armor, and that "slight" fuselage ( which confused me) modification with NO sliding canopy (per pilots complaints).
    I'll go with ...
    Fiat G.50 bis
    They still lost out to Macchi in the competition for aircraft for the Regia Aeronautica.
