    Poor game.

I like a good defensive dual. This was not that, it was error filled poorly executed offence, especially from the Panthers.

And what were they doing trying to run out of the spread formation? It ruined their timing. It played into Denver's hands, allowing their speedy OLBs to get to the QB or RB in the backfield. Newton did not look comfortable with the hand offs, and the backs were not hitting the holes with any momentum.
    Apart from that it worked!

    Who was awarded the MVP?

I was actually surprised by this outcome, 24-10 Broncos? Guess their defense really was as good as some thought, anyways glad to see Manning get another Super Bowl win, especially since he might retire after this.

Manning might retire because of deliveries made to his wife...Payton has addressed the issue, saying- " whatever was delivered to my wife, was her business."..doesn't sound like a denial. In fact it sounds like an admission.
Jeremy Shockey seems to be caught up in this as well...Smoke- fire...just sayin.
Payton exhibits several symptoms of abuse...and the NFL is a greasy, dirty party that allows its players to abuse drugs and policy in order to increase its wealth.
    The list is long.

Been offline for a couple days. My observations about the game. Cotchery catch was originally ruled as incomplete. IMO, they determined that the video did not conclusively show a catch and upheld the call on the field. It sucks for Carolina, but that's been the status quo this year vis-à-vis the new "catch rule". Denver did not get jobbed on the taunting penalty by Aqib Talib. It was a stupid, self-centered, bone-headed screwup and it could have cost his team the game. Ironically, he may get suspended for the face mask tackle which only cost his team a couple yards. Von Miller absolutely deserved the MVP award. His two strip sacks arguably won the game for the Broncos. While I didn't predict a winner, I did believe that if Denver could get to Newton the way they did Brady, they had a shot at winning the game. I heard a stat on the radio that in the Super Bowl games where a #1 ranked defense played, they won 10 of 11 times. Not sure if those are the exact numbers, but it was that lopsided. I wonder if Carolina bought into the media hype that the game was a foregone conclusion in their favor?

I expect P-Mann to retire on top. I expect Carolina to be in the mix again next year, and maybe a bit wiser for this experience.

Anyone notice how poorly the guys who were introduced as past Super Bowl participants moved? It was painful to watch. Bradshaw, what a mess.

Yeah, did notice...The concussion thing will ripple through most manly sports... Sadly, baseball and other unmanly sports will survive. Looks like a death knell for football.

I didn't expect guy in 40s and 59s to be in that bad of shape. I play basketball with Guys from college to upper 60s and most really get after it. One of the college students played high school ball against(and did well) 2 Ohio State starters, 2 Illinois starters and conference USA freshman of the year. The 60 s guys sometimes work him over pretty good. One of our guys in his 50s is 6 foot 4 and moves very well.

No it wasn't just because they are old. The they are broken. Montana said he can't do much of anything anymore.

Roger S did look good though.

my dad is 85 and in unbelievable shape...plays softball, shovels snow, etc...gets around..sure, some people who keep in shape can do that....but life works on people different..I see people dying in their 60s who can't even walk....muscles slaggy and blood problems...... people's bodies and physiology are different....I don't know how many people in their 40s that I know who have had knee and back problems...I'm mid 50s and work out pretty good...bike everyday ...''work out'' in gym and also run...stretching very important to muscles..I stretch almost everyday...but it's nothing like when I was 20...I get pains in my hands, shoulders, etc....I just raced a 28 year old for fun....I kept it close, but my thigh muscle hurt bad for 3 days...that wouldn't happen when I was younger
you could've been a great athlete in your 20s, but by 50, you start feeling it....as stated, if you keep in shape, that helps a lot...if not, muscles want a vacation....
example--Roger Staubach looked awesome compared to Terry and Roger is 74, Terry 67
if you don't use the muscles, they get slaggy and won't work, even if you were an athlete...and if you just decide to start to get in shape when you are older, it's a lot harder to get back into it than when you are younger...possible, but harder
when we were young in the USMC, my god!! we'd work out, run, PT, etc with our unit, then after we got liberty, we'd go work out on our own..we'd do the O course for 30 minutes, run 2 miles...then I'd go work out on my own....I was young....no way I could work myself up to that now, and I have been working out non-stop since I was 16
don't mean to sound conceited, etc.....just giving examples

NBA can be brutal. Just not NFL brutal...MLB, brawls only. As a Canadian, find that MMA is creepy with all that touching and hugging, but will watch in public places.

Repeating that new (old) info on concussions will very much change the face of football. May take a few years before it's really noticed.
Guessing offense will benefit, as defense will have to pull punches in order to avoid yardage and monetary penalties...Ok with higher scoring games, but the loss of punishing defense will dictate smaller, faster defenders. As a result, overall game scores increase by 25%.

Yeah, I'd say your Eagles made a real statement yesterday when they routed Pittsburgh like that, your team shows promise, especially their rookie QB.

Seems like there will have to a re-evaluation on the whole NFC east with potentially 3 good teams at play, certainly the most interesting division.

I'm a Ravens fan myself so I clearly enjoyed the Eagles a whooping of the Stealers... Lived in Philly for a few years. If not the Ravens I root for the Eagles.

I loved seeing the Giants lose to the Vikings last night. I like seeing the confusion on Eli's face. McAdoo is looking more and more like his predecesor; confused.
