7th Corp - thanks for you and your father's service! I just joined the forum too, I just retired in 2012 after a 26 year Air Force career as a Colonel. I wasn't a pilot but an aircraft maintenance and also a supply officer. I was on C-141, KC-135, RC-135, and F-15 aircraft flightlines. Hey , about the B-24 - GREAT aircraft! I live in OKC, and was fortunate enough to be able to climb around not only a B-17 but a B-24 also, they flew into the Wiley Post AIrport here for a couple days this year. My 3 boys ages 7,10 and 11 just had a blast - really learned a lot. We must have went through the aircraft about 10 times each! It is amazing how small those aircraft were, in the movies they make them seem a lot larger.
Thanks for your service as well Colonel! If you want to see some pictures of my Dads Time, http://www.halun.com tons of b-24's. Dad was on Pug and Male Call, the site got changed around again, you will need Java to look at the site it, if you don't have it you will have to get JAVA, click on the icon at the very bottom of web page, will take you into the other web pages of the B-24's....
