7th Corp - thanks for you and your father's service! I just joined the forum too, I just retired in 2012 after a 26 year Air Force career as a Colonel. I wasn't a pilot but an aircraft maintenance and also a supply officer. I was on C-141, KC-135, RC-135, and F-15 aircraft flightlines.

Hey , about the B-24 - GREAT aircraft! I live in OKC, and was fortunate enough to be able to climb around not only a B-17 but a B-24 also, they flew into the Wiley Post AIrport here for a couple days this year. My 3 boys ages 7,10 and 11 just had a blast - really learned a lot. We must have went through the aircraft about 10 times each! It is amazing how small those aircraft were, in the movies they make them seem a lot larger.
