    Gents,

I like to direct your attention to this great self published book by Col. R.G. Pine-Coffin about the battle of 7 Para on D-Day. The book is called The Tale of Two Bridges and can be bought from Mr. Pine-Coffin himself.

My copy arrived today and it looks really good. RECOMMENDED!!!!

I must say that the book was written by Peter Pine-Coffin, son of the Col. and that the book can be bought of him.

I am reading it right now and it is the story of 7 Bn who were dropped to defend the bridges after force of Col. Howard conquered them.

It is basically Col Pine-Coffin's (called "wooden box" by his men) diary, but Peter has done research and has been corresponding with veterans and has their experiences though out the book as well. It is an easy readable book and tells the story of the whole operation very clearly.

I am really enjoying it! Recommended to everyone interested in (Normandy) Airborne operations.

I've run accross this guys name before and I must say that Pine-Coffin seems a singularly bad name to inspire confidence in the troops, lol
