Does anyone know where I can get the Battle Of Britain theme music on CD ? I`ve always liked it but I can`t find it anywhere, not without buying some really expensive collectors item.

Well they already gave you all the clues you really need to find it.
Pulling up Amazon and doing a search on "sound track battle of Britain" yielded:
    http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=sound+track+battle+of+britain
    The top to choices are:
    http://www.amazon.com/Battle-Britain-Original-Soundtrack-Enhanced/dp/B00000IXSK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1428590090&sr=8-1&keywords=soundtrack+battle+of+britain
    and
    http://www.amazon.com/Battle-Britain-Ron-Goodwin/dp/B00028HBUW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1428590090&sr=8-2&keywords=soundtrack+battle+of+britain
Plugging the same search phrase into other search engines will likely yield more alternatives atlhough you might want to put quotes around "battle of Britain" to keep down the number of irrelevant hits.

    Thanks for that lwd.
I have searched about the internet but the sites are either in America* (like - I think - the links you posted) and/or the price is sky high. $43 for a CD is loads of money !

    * I`m in the UK

Thanks lwd. I have tried that, and joined AllMusic. But I can`t work out how to download it. I`m assuming it isn`t free but I can`t seem to find a price for it either ! Am I doing something wrong ?

Looks like that site is designed to stream them. If they don't have downloads as an option you'll need some software or hardware that allows you to capture the stream. Not my field I'm afraid. I'll ask one of my kids later today and they might have some suggestions.

Have you tried sacrificing a goat to it?

I do think it`s surprising that you can`t buy the CD of the BofB music. I mean buy a new CD for a reasonable price as opposed to a second hand "collectors" CD for an arm and a leg.....

It is odd when I can buy a blue ray version of the movie for less than $9 or download it from Amazon Prime for free but the sound track is several times that. I'd actually suggest that as the best route to take by the way. Get a blue ray or dvd copy and software to "rip" the sound track. I'm pretty sure that you can get some that will separate the music from the sound effects and voice as well but not certain.

Thought to check out Itunes but I think you have to download their software to easily check out what they've got. Did find a couple more links that might be useful:
    http://www.virginmedia.com/music/browse/original-soundtrack/albums/238687
    http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/title/1205/Battle+Of+Britain
    http://www.mp3fil.info/download/battle-of-britain.html
    http://www.classicsonline.com/catalogue/product.aspx?pid=445192

hope there is something useful there.

In the end I bought a copy of the CD from Backtrack. It`s regarded as a collectors item and so cost me £30 ! Whilst the original is unavailable I`m prepared to burn off a CD to any WWII contributor (with more than 50 posts) for free who sends me a blank CD and a stamp addressed envelope.
