    In particular, the Tuskegee Airmen. Having spoken to many 15th AF bomber crewmen, I have heard nothing but praise for the escort provided by the 332nd FG.

    Interesting. When my father's unit was activated (the 473rd Infantry) it was attached to the 92nd Division, which was a black unit. The 442nd Infantry (the Nisei) was also attached to the division. I never heard a bad thing about the 92nd from him.

    Compare and contrast with the British. . . . . .'The Peoples War' by Angus Calder makes for interesting reading as does the US Army Green Book 'Negro Troops in WWII' sorry if that is not PC, but that is the title, it was written in the 60's
