Every attack, every out rage brings the leadership of the muslim extremists one step closer to their goal. Which in my opinion is a world wide conflict, a Jihad which they hope will eventually result in world wide Muslim domination. Anger grows, just as in Germany after World War I, then Hitler could blame the Jews and those who stabbed Germany in the back. The population of Germany may not of agreed with the Nazis philosophy, but with the desperation in Germany brought about by the depression and the Versaille treaty, Hitler must of seemed like the only choice available. I fear that the same is happening through these Islamist outrages and a messiah will appear that will give the terrorists the world wide war they want. With moderate Muslim nations having to pick sides and they will choose the Islamists. KTK
They will not win. They are globally detested and kill other Muslims who do not abide by their creed. They have no friends. The majority of people are peace loving and tolerant individuals and that includes Muslims. Like anyone else in the world non radicalised Muslims do not want to be dominated and cowed by fanatics. ISIS wants to inflame the West and create martyrs - they are goading us and we must not fall into the trap of their 'Divide and Conquer' tactics.
I completely agree with you toki. I have a lot of muslim friends who are Bosniaks and Albanians and they are better humans than most of the people my nation. ISIS scum should be exterminated and even my muslim friends say so too. The road to destroying ISIS is in my opinion global unity. All countries must unite and destroy these idiots but it's in some countries' interest that ISIS is alive and kickin'.
Outside the Middle East, I would agree. But, as seen by several of the countries in the Middle East, lots of Muslims support ISIS and other Terrorist organizations. Saddam was certainly a bad man, but his rule of fear kept these factions from what they are doing today (at least in Iraq). Sharia Law as it is currently practiced is a very evil thing too. But look at the term Terrorist - a person who uses terrorism in the pursuit of political aims...while Terrorism is defined as: the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims Now, I am not sure what their political aims are - other than to spread Islam and Sharia law - but they are certainly doing their 'job' as Terrorists right now rather well.
That they are goading is exactly what I speak of, but I am seeing a sea change in public opinion, people are becoming sick of this and the extremists on the right are gaining power. There is nothing more dangerous than opposed zealots with nuclear weapons. KTK
Maybe a global leader will come out and wage war against Muslims...Take hold of their businesses and give them a grace period to get out before they begin to be rounded up and interned into "Holiday Camps"...Hang on...where did I get that? There are Muslims as we speak fighting ISIS...there are Muslims being slain along with the rest of us...what I think we need to do is embrace the moderate Muslims and continue to marginalise the extremes...Indonesia has 200 million Muslims...and a nicer people you will not meet. If we can think of a way to turn the moderates further against the extremists we can let them fight this cancer from within.
That, is a load of BS. The Gulf states are under the biggest threat of ISIS. More than 90% of ISIS propaganda is aimed against the Gulf States. Individuals within those states, may support ISIS, just as individuals in the USA supported the IRA. That didn't make the USA a supporter of Irish terrorism.
And to address the OP, no, they most definitely are not winning. They've gone from spectacular attacks killing thousands and paralyzing transportation systems to claiming credit for random axe attacks. From coordinated hijackings and crashing aircraft into buildings, to driving lorries into pedestrians. The Caliphate is loosing territory. As long as they continue to waste their human resources (something they don't value very highly) on defending the territory that gives them legitimacy in the eyes of warped fanatics, they'll keep on weakening. Once it collapses, they'll return to being angry men in cellars.
