View attachment 25108 Finally at the ground level we have all of my Osprey books, and in the middle my old Paddington collection.
You have a nice library. I saw Bruce Catton! I've heard so much about him, but I have yet to read his work. And...I was trying to zoom in on your music collection.
His three volume "Army of Potomac" series is a great read. "Mr. Lincoln's Army", "Glory Road" and "A Stillness at Appomattox" cover the entire war and are mainly from a military perspective. His Centennial series, "The Coming Fury", "Terrible Swift Sword" and "Never Call Retreat" are more comprehensive in that they place the events within their social, economic and political context. You can find them all the time in second hand and antique stores for very reasonable prices, he must have sold millions of copies. You'll enjoy them if you're interested in that era.
Oof..this is a difficult one..... Just scratching the surface here...( excuse the Hemingway shelf....)
Over 150 of my books are stored on my nook. Between the fiction books owned by my wife and my history books, we were running out of space. I'll try to post sone of them later.
I had to look up Powerman 5000. Whew! The visuals in their videos match the intensity of their music. Edited to Add: Argh. I just realized this thread is in a specific forum (and not a general chat one). Sorry for missing that ~ I promise I will refrain from derailing the thread.
Love this thread, love it. Very surprised it took so long to have one on this topic. Sadly I lost just about 700 books about 18 months ago in a bad flood, many of them first printings and a good number signed. The loss hit me so hard I was unable to even go down into the basement and assess the damage for a month. What's left of the collection is now packed up in a safer place now.
And then there's the inside of those cupboards.... Not to mention the revolving bookcase... ..and some selected titles in the living room.... Like I said, scratching the surface.......( most of my Bulge & Normandy stuff is in a pile in the back room....! )
Tito! Now there was a fascinating man. I read a bio of him when I was in grade school. Other kids would use reading time for sports heroes and such, but I'd read about men like Tito and De Gaulle, and even Lenin and Stalin. Of course the other kids would look at me strangely, but I didn't care.
