British 9.2inch Mark I Howitzer

    A most impressive suggestion of power is afforded by these 9.2 inch Howitzers lined up. As a result of the strange changes that the mechanisation of the army has brought about, they are now manned by Yeomanry. Their great weight makes it impossible to move them as a whole, so for transport they can be divided into three parts, the barrel, the bed ad breech ad the recoil apparatus. [​IMG]

    Jim,
    I would assume that picture #1 is of 9.2 inch howitzers being used as Coastal Defence weapons at the begining of WW2
    Nice posed picture though.

    Agree with you Jasmor regarding the pictured was posed, its a pity that most pictures that were taken during WWII were posed for and not taken during action ... :cry:
