Panzerkampfwagen MK V1 E-Tiger

A Panzerkampfwagen MK V1 E-Tiger photographed in Germany in 1943, shortly after it had come into service. Developed as the answer to the Soviet KV-1 heavy tank, the Tiger was in service before the Panther and was first encountered by the Allies in North Africa. At first the Allies considered it too vulnerable to the superior mobility of their own tanks, and it had a reputation for mechanical unreliability. But in the close country of Normandy its threat greatly restricted the willingness of Allied tank crews to advance. The Allies estimated that it gave them losses of up to three of their own tanks, with crews, to get one Tiger.

Outnumbered and slaughtered in the East, too big and numb for most scenarios in The West (other than vast open spaces that it oh so unusually found itself) It was a tank out of place, even if it was one of THE greatest Tanks ever built.:lol:Look at the Leopard 2 today, it wouldn't have been if it wasn't for such beauties as the Tiger.
