Hi. Im just getting into collecting WWII medals. Ive recently bought a 25 and 40 year service medal. Marked fur treue dienste. I have been researching on where these medals have been coming from and where they were awarded. I have been looking everywhere for this medal, and i cant pick up any trace. Please, if anyone has any leads to where these medals came from, and what branch they were from it would really bring relief to me. Thanks for spending your time reading this -Justin
From what I can find (Google is your friend) they are German 25 year and 40 year long service medals. Put "fur treue dienste" into a google search and you should get more than a couple of results. You might even find some images of your medals.
They were awarded to civil servants etc for 25 & 40 years continued service in their jobs (postman etc) during the third reich. You could’ve been in the same job before the National Socialists came to power but it was during the third reich that the awards were created. They’re nice but one of the more common awards, although there is another one in the series of 3 which is the 50 year example and that one is quite scarce to find, but when you do they’re not cheap. P.s, Fur Treue Dienst = For Faithful Service
