for Kriegsfarrer: how about some Billie Holiday songs? probably pre WW2 but nice music. I have a cd called "Love songs Billie Holiday" do you like that?
as you said, there is no replacement for him, once he left genesis the group went down ,one onf my favorites groups gone
This is probably going to make me unpopular, but I think Genesis was at its best when Peter Gabriel did the vocals. I don´t think much of what they did since is any good, too commercial and slick for my taste I´m afraid.
There is merit to your post, Peter Gabriel did a great job with Genesis. Their music was what I considered "Art Rock". I liked them both.
Peter's album So was pretty good, even if it was himself, but like Skua mentioned, Genesis was at its best when Peter Gabriel sang.
well, i'm into Mercyful Fate (easily the best danish group ever), King Diamond and Blind Guardian and i like Weird Al Yankovic too
Well, they don´t have much competition in Denmark, have they ? But seriously, King Diamond is really good.
I thought you were located in ex-Yugoslavia. How far from Denmark do you have to go to get away from the Olsen Brothers.
Johny Horton, and Gordon Lightfoot ( Sink the Bismark, Battle of New Orleans, and the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.) :kill:
Country/ Blues Surely? any musical genre that incorporates lyrics re dog dying, wife leaving, lost brother, crops dying etc must be the BLUES rather than country. Does anyone remember Jasper Carrotts Blues song?............................. One chord, one line. " Woke up this afternoon!!!!" Classic!! My favourites. Pink Floyd; Led Zep; Sensational Alex Harvey Band; Hendrix; Nazareth; Ten years After; Steve taylor; Darrell Mansfield. To name but a few. Ooooh nearly forgot & the Rolling stones, Deep Purple (early) Genesis to name but a few more.
Either I'm too young or I listen to the wrong radio stations, but I don't really like all this old music...
