i painted the hub white then cut a thin and curved piece of tape and stick it to the hub and spray it with red paint, but very thin coats, so you do not get any run off or big build up of paint in the tape, i think i put about 6 coats of red paint

I'm building a P-47D-23-RA (built in Evansville, Indiana) for an old WW2 crew Chief.
The model is based on Tamiya's 1/48 scale Republic P-47D Razorback.
His outfit was the 73rd Fighter Group of the 318th. He went ashore with the first wave at Saipan in June '44. They flew their P-47s off of CVE-escort carriers after the Aslito Airfield was captured.
His aircraft was #420 and I'm working from photos taken in 1944. It's been a very interesting project. Ross has shared some fascinating stories of the Pacific... and P-47s. He is 86yrs old.

I have re-started my T-34 / flakvierling conversion, to practice for the group build.

Does anybody know what colour German fire extinguishers were?
