I recently saw the movie "Downfall". I thought that it was very good. The uniforms, actors, espically Hitler were played real well. I was hoping to see more action, but overall I would give it a 8.5 out of 10.

yep, but do you still knows where the downfall topic is standing??
anyway, i give it a 10 on 10 (the scene with the pencelis did it. it was so historicaly correct. he did that in real leave. play with pencels and break them in two when he was mad  )

Why should there be more "action" in a movie about the last 10 days of Hitlers life? He did not see any action.

he didn't was action but we want :)
anyway, a little bit more action would be good. than we can understand the dramatic situation in berlin. so we can see that divisions excist only in regement strenght, that they are beeing pushed back, do some little counterattacks with heavy losses. makes it more harder to belief that hitler didn't want to give up and was as crazy as can be.

It isn't an action movie. It wasn't its purpose, and unlike low-quality movies (i.e. 90 % of all movies, specifically 99.9 % of all Hollywood movies), it had the added bonus that there wasn't a love story involved (at least not in the traditional sense).

If it was up to Hollywood, Der Untergang would have featured steamy sex scenes between Eva Braun and Hitler, and The Gouvernator would have jumped in with an M-60 (cleverly disguised as a Tiger II), blasting away undead Nazi-Zombies.

If action is what you want watch an action film, not the historical depiction of the last days of a dictator's life in an underground bunker. :-?

Vassili, it may be that you know the movie under its original title, "Der Untergang".

This movie definitely had all the action it needed, including several scenes depicting the hopelessness of the military situation in Berlin. I can't believe you think there weren't enough of such scenes.

Excellent film.It really shows the stuborness of Hitler.Commanding unegsisting units, forcing counter-attacks with them,...But i think we can all see how Joseph Goebbels affected Hitler and his decision's.Great movie.

Sorry for my bad English
