    Here's one for you -
    What were wwII British Carrier crew referring to when they spoke of "bacon"?

    I have a question for you. Are you reffering to the bren carrier? If so I would have to guess the Wespe.

    Hello -
    Actually, I am thinking of Illustrious-class armored Carriers, specifically in the context of the operations in the British Pacific Fleet, spring 1945.

    Probably something to do with the state of Kamikaze pilots as they swept their remains of the deck (and I do not want to get into any more debates of armoured vs unarmoured flight decks!)

    Yes, it is referring to the smoldering bits of meat, eyeballs, whatever, that remained after the Kamikaze bounced off the 3" armor; a great example of the effectiveness of the armored flight deck. This is my last post regarding the magnificent armored flight deck :D
