EDIT: Sorry, this picture is a colour WWII picture of a Canadian Sherman with crew from 1944 in Italy. Just posted it because there are few WWII photos that are this high quality. From wiki, type in Canadian Forces
They never look that big in movies....then you get up close and personal with 'em.... Why does Wikipeadia (why do you trust them?) have a sherman in with the Canadian troops? We haven't used them since.....1945? Something like that anyway.
Oh, in that case it was on wiki because it was talking about the CFs history in WWI and WWII, so it had this picture saying how the Sherman was the main Canadian tank till 1954, though I believe we used the Sherman VCs in Korea.
Well depends how you look at it. We got there in 51 after the Chinese entered the war and threw back the UN forces from the North. I guess our greatest moment in Korea was the Battle of Kapyong. PPCLI was awarded a presidential Citation for the battle, and it is basically stated that if the Canadians and Australians had not held, Seoul would have fallen. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Battle_of_Kapyong Yes I love wikipedia, and I trust it because many articles have sources to back it up.
My teacher knew a guy who wrote himself into history with that. It doesn't have a good reputation around here......not that I really care
Well someone can do that with a book as well, though I guess you have a greater chance of being caught with a book. Kinda like Douglass Haigs Diary, he rewrote it after the war to make himself look good. Then someone published it.
the only reason you get that photo when you type in Canadian Forces is because the Sherman was the last Canadian tank to see action in over 50 years.
