Hi Julio and welcome to the forums.....hope to see many more postings from you. Do you have any idea which unit the Ju 87D variant is from ? E
No All that I have is that picture. Since it's without the dive brakes it was probably produced after the d-5 series and was probably not used for diving bombing but for land attack/support Julio
Julio: The a/c has been repainted and the gun/cannon fairings plugged. I wonder if the exhaust suppressors were installed and rmoved as the exhaust ports are dmaged at least on two of them.....if so we have a D-5? from a NSG unit and this might indicate NSG 1,2 or 9 if fallen into US hands. Thoughts on this ? E
I have some data about it from where I took the picture. let's see if I cant put it in english. 1-it is a d-5 or latter because it's not with the dive brakes 2- it's not with its guns at the wings 3- the retractile dive sirens (is it correct?) at the landing gears where removed. 4- the top of pilots seat is a 10mm armour plate and the of the rear gunner is a 8mm. that's all i know. hope you can understand my english description.
Welcome on board, Julio! You can try to make a detailed description in Portuguese and some of our other Portuguese members or myself, who speak very good Spanish could help. Well, it is just a sugestion.
These info and the picture can be found at the book from Lt. Col J. A. Baker abotu the Stuka, 1980, Bison Books limtd. isbn 0-89009-323-7 [ 31 July 2002, 01:56 PM: Message edited by: Julio Campos ]
This looks like a job for Rodrigo... Welcome aboard Julio! I'm curious, is this for modelling purposes?
yes I want to build a model of it. I'm trying to figure out the colors and markings of it. I found more pictures of it, and another stukas from RAF and Italy too. http://pub73.ezboard.com/fluftwaffeexperten71774frm92.showMessage?topicID=3.topic but that the jocelyn is identified as a ju-87d-3 in Tunisia/1943
Well for one thing it would be the last Stuka D variant to serve in North Africa. Wish I had more early war materials but I do not. Possibly with St.G 3 ? E
Hi dear friends... I´ve tried to find something since yesterday, but until now I can´t find nothing about at my "sources" I´m still researching, that´s a interesting thread. And Friedrich, you must know me as "Digo" from ICQ, yes... that guy who made jokes about Brasil 2, Germany 0 at finals of world cup. !!! Thanks Otto for recomendation...
