comic japanese tanks??

Not sure here, but I'm guessing you want to know what the tanks are in the comic strip?

If so my guess is on the Type 89 I-Go

I'd say they are Chi-Has - notice the roadwheels, handrail on the turret and frontal superstructure design: http://www.military.cz/panzer/tanks/jap ... dex_en.htm

But aside from that, this looks like a Japanese version of Tank Girl.

A nice japanese comic strip about the Malayan/Singapore campaign 1941/42. There are often military topics combined with manga-style comics in Japan.

The Tanks on the top pictures are type 97 medium tanks Chi-Ha but the one on the last pic is a type 95 light tank Ha-Go with a wrong main gun (barel too short and with a too large diameter for the 37 mm tank guns used on this afv)

...its a damn good thing our boys didnt know that jap tanks were crewed by such lovley nubile roundeye teeniboppers ..i dont think they could have brought themselves to fire on such soft and tender targets ..perhaps a large display of free cosmetics ,boyband cds and young miss fashions would entice them out of their mounts where they could be captured by a sudden pillow fight attack and some non abrasive restraints ..those who fought unduly would prolly have to be spanked ..oh ,war is hell...

I think it might be a Wasp, the flamethrower conversion of the Bren Carrier, with its fuel cart missing.

What a bizzarre collection ! What period are they from ? The girls look quite contemporary, but it is surely odd to feature WW2 tanks and a map of Malaya and Singapore in a modern cartoon ? Where do the Japanese come from ? They are no easier to understand than they ever were.
We had a young Japanese girl as an au pair for three years until a couple of years ago and, nice though she was, her attitudes and approach to life to have come straight from a WW2 Japanese infantry sergeant !

 

isnt it strange how the girls in japanese cartoons always have these gigantic western eyes , bondage ,torture and rape seem to be favorite subjects too.

 

As far as I know, realism is not a particularly big priority for comics in the genre, though I must admit I've read practically none. Whatever the origin of the characters, they rarely tend to have much in the way of facial detail anyway. For the record, though, big eyes are no exclusive western privilege, and neither are double eyelids (though they are popular among East Asian girls).

Depends on what kind of comics you read. If you expect all Japanese comics to be about sexual perversities, a visit to the average Japanese comic book store will leave you somewhat disappointed (and probably bored to tears). Stereotypes about Japanese culture abound but, as they are everywhere else, bizarre fetishes and perversities form the lunatic fringe.

In Kobe railway station the newsstands sold plenty of Manga for frustrated commuters " salarymen " IE. suit and tie desk workers ,
Most of those comics were showing extreme sex and violence ,

I concluded that the average japannes office worker was deeply disturbed :roll:

are there any japanese comics that portray anyone who looks remotely japanese ? please post a pic if you can find one ...all i see is big eyes ,little pointy noses and whats with the giant spiky hairdoos ?
