Pinched this off "Feldgrau" & posted it here because Tom is one of our long standing members.

""One of Feldgrau's long time members and respected forum moderators, Tom Houlihan, is in the hospital right now. We aren't sure of the prognosis yet but believe it has to do with his appendix. Regardless, the fact that he's there at all is troubling and I wanted to insure everyone was able to send him their best wishes for a speedy recover until he gets back on his feet!

GET BETTER SOON TOM. You are missed and our thoughts are with you.

Please be sure to keep Tom in your thoughts.""

I have not been able to contact Tom personally, so I fear it may be true.

    David.

Let's hope and pray it's not true. If it is then we wish for a speedy recovery.

Thanks as well David, I had a look on the Feldgrau forums and noticed this from Tom himself posted yesterday:

At least he's apparently still in the land of living, albeit having had a bit of a scare! :D

From what I remember when I used to visit here regularly, Tom said he used to be in the Marines and I think he was or is a deputy sheriff... going off memory here might be wrong.

Althought I do remember discussing where we live with him so I would bet my memory is correct.

tom is both a forum general and a law enforcement officer , could not this illness be the work of spammers ?

think about it , first they take out command and control, then they come after the rest of us ..i think simonr and ossian should be dispatched to michigan post haste , to do a littile investigateing .

ricky , roel and all you others , be extra vigilent , look both ways before crossing the street , and never go swimming right after a heavy meal !

seriously , please tell tom we all wish him a rapid recovery .

What sad news...Tom if you're reading this, you're in my thoughts.

Tom is a lovely, warm, funny guy...I hope you feel better soon sweetie!

Thanks to David and Simon for the information.

It's lovely to be missed David. :D

    Well.....

2007 turned out to be a nightmare year....illness, breaking my arm, relationship ending just before Christmas. :(

I'm on a waiting list to see a neurologist....stroke like symptoms, not a stroke by similar paralysis...that's what caused me to fall and break my arm.

So...last year was a wash out and the start of this year has been pretty **** so far....it can only get better from here. ;)

    ....you asked David

    Sorry to hijack Tom's thread....but he's a nice guy, he won't mind...will he? :D

hahn , did you break your arm while ending your relationship ? ...you should remember that women do tend to have a more delicate upper body framework and really when strikeing something as heavy and dense as a human male`s head , useing a small wooden mallet ,rolling pin or crickett bat would put much less strain on your arms, hands and shoulders .

please note , if in the future , you are dateing a slovinian ,australian or dutchman , you might want to upgrade to galvanized pipe , one inch rebar or a small boat anchor and chain . ordinary oak ,hickory and ash have often been used with little apparent effect on these types of male skulls .

once a woman is past 40 years her bones become even more fragile and she should contimplate useing even greater mass when ending romantic relationships , in the usa , a pre 70s vintage full sized v8 sedan is often favoured but a mercedez of the SEL class or a similar grade bmw would also do quite well and provide ample impact shock protection for a woman of middle years .

a large potted plant or old style stereo reciever dropped from a three storie window can also be very effective , however its been statisticly proven that almost all women are poorly skilled at judgeing proper lead in and wind deflection for hitting a walking target at much past two stories distant .

my own opinion is that this deficiancy is the result of almost ALL females haveing a total lack of intrest and entusiasim for the fine art of dropping water baloons on sidewalk pedestrians while in the critical middle school years .

hahn , safety first , next time please use an automobile and remember to buckle up !!

David please add me, I feel a little forgotten by him upstairs.

My New Years Resolution is to make this year happier than last year. I know I'll achieve it...the power of positive thought. :D

majorwoody10 : That really made me laugh! :D

I could do it if you give me the hospital, room, 40dollars for gas, and another 8 for the border. Surprisingly the money that is worth more, you still have to pay like 40 cents more.

roel gadflys about the planet in his own private curtis -bristol executive jet and lives in the ancient yet plush castle roelstein .sir ricky owns three bentleys , a silver shadow and one of the last pristine flying dh mosquitos , and owns a very large country estate in ireland , so i dont think the administrators do to badly for pocket change .
