I've taken a liking to Arnold Schwarzenegger (if that's how you spell his last name) and the Terminator movie series.

the unknown safari guide in the lion charge clip is undoubtedly the coolest and certainly bravest action hero ever actually filmed ...in action

watch it again .the cool guides last second shot at nearly point blank , shatters the lions jaw and therby saves his cutomers neck , always a good thing .

Hero? the guy from 'Platoon' who had that awsome scene were he's running from the Veitcong (after being shot by his commander in secret)
and just before he dies (while Charlie Sheens character watched in absolute horrer as the CO had told him the guy was dead from the enemy) he tosses his arms up toward the sky......all in slow motion.

Very moving scene, awsome character.....will post his name when I find out.

Sergeant Elias (Played by Willem Defoe) who was shot by Staff Sergeant Barnes (Played by Tom Berenger), although the commander of the Platoon was technically Lieutenant Wolfe.

While I like this reply, I'm going for:
    Humphrey Bogart.
    The African Queen.

William Holden in "Bridge on the River Kwai" a very average Joe with nothing particularly heroic about him who nonetheless came through in the clutch.

I second your nomination Lou! He's also the classic anti-hero in "The Sand Pebbles".

Jason Statham movies are great. In the 90's I liked Nicolas Cage, but also thought Terminator 2 was incredible.
