Seems the new WWII museum in Gdansk is under fire for their personal, human depiction of the conflict. The state is concerned that it is not depicting Poland's wartime history appropriately. Interesting how it all comes down to culpability during the Holocaust. Poland's New World War II Museum Just Opened, But Maybe Not For Long
On my next trip to Europe I plan to visit the north coast and see Peenemünde, and Błyskawica. Would like to see this museum as well if it's still in operation
UPDATE: Not looking good for the present state of the museum. Seems the court has decided in favor of moving forward. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/05/...war-ii-museum-court-clears-takeover.html?_r=0
It's not a museum but a giant waxworks and multimedia exhibit - and you could watch most of it contents on youtube. They have almost no original items, most of them are reconstructions, copies, and installation work. It's a waste of quite serious money, waxworks shouldn't be built with public money, and really a museum dedicated to the entire WW2, including Japan and the entire Asia? In a relatively small building? Is this even possible without resorting to Hollywoodian simplifications?
