To a point, but only to a point.

I believe the real problem is the idea that: If you pass one gun law, then it will be easier to pass another, and another, and another. until finally, you wind up with a total gun ban. Thus, the best course of action is to fight all gun laws, even the "good" ones.

False equivalence. Background checks are run against computer databases of known criminals and people forbidden by law to own a gun. A background check takes seconds to perform. It's the 21st century after all. The three days is just a filler. They don't investigate anything.

How many rounds do you need to take several animals? Hunters routinely take with them 20, 30 or more even if carrying a double-barreled shotgun. Just in case.

30 rounds is not a defining characteristic of AR-15. Even a small handgun can be loaded with 30 rounds. Even a small handgun can be a machine gun. But AR-15 is not a machine gun.
The defining characteristics of AR-15 are: its lightness, and the small round fired - one of the smallest used in hunting.

There was a problem before that idea was expressed at least to most Americans. Indeed it seems to have been the strategy of at least some anti gun groups and jumped on as counter propaganda by pro gun groups. I think there are some very reasonable compromises but the people on either end aren't interested.

And? Do you know a criminal who was a criminal already before he committed his first crime?
Concealed Carry Permit Holders Are The Most Law-Abiding People In The Country, they commit crime as frequently as police officers.

    Bun guns and police officers.

The number of people murdered per year in the US = about 16,000. Majority of them are killed with blunt objects.
The number of people killed in mass shuttings per year = 170, majority of them is domestic violence.
Mass shuttings are not a problem, murders are.

    Long series? How long?
No it's not a couple of idiots ruin it for everybody. Accidents happen.
It's prohibitionists, fun killers that ruin it for everybody.

So ban drones because of a few peeping toms. Of course ban all model aircraft, drones are after all model helicopters only simpler.
Ban binoculars and telescopes especially those with active stabilization. You can peep with them from a (large) distance.

A have an idea, revolutionary. Apprehend the perpetrator and punish him.

And by the way, don't forget to ban peeping, because it's not illegal. But trespassing is.

No, it's preventive censorship, done by online social media and social networking services according to instruction from the German government. All so called "hate speech" is censored, with no right of appeal.

Do I have to remind that in the US the so called "hate speech" is protected by the first amendment.

And the connection between murder rate increase and the number of adults with concealed carry permits is?

The problem with compromise is that we gun-owners seem to do all the compromising. Now if the antis threw something on the table then maybe that would be different.

Until you really think about them.

Yeah, the FBI does, but very few are investigated, 10%, because that is only triggered if the computerized background check hits a red flag.
How a Federal Gun Background Check Works

No one is saying it is...

Pfff...There are 50-round pistol magazines for pistols

Not sure what the need for one is though...

    You've never bump-fired have you?

    Even girls can do it...

Of course, you do not even need to purchase a special stock..Doing it old school

    Mmmm...
These are all light weight small round rifles. Which one is an AR-15?

They should be almost ideal if you want to familiarize yourself with how to handle magazine feed issues.

I started duck hunting with a semi automatic shotgun but got a lot more ducks when I switched to a single shot. Never could come close to what dad could do with a pump though.

Well since we have exhausted any coherent discourse on Gun Laws in the UK and have drifted off to topics such as Holocaust denial, Peeping Tom's, Drones and Kiddie porn I think this would be a good place to call it a Day!
