Recently I have been doing research on the 29th Cavalry, Composite. Does anyone have more information than what I've found below, and was it a training unit?
    - Constituted 19 December 1942 as 29th Cavalry Composite
    - Activated on 23 January 1943 at Fort Riley under Replacement & School Command
    - Commanded by temporary colonel Thomas T. Thornburgh
    - Inactivated 1 May 1944 at Fort Riley
    - Disbanded 12 December 1951
Sources: Thornburgh's West Point obituary, Sawicki Cavalry Regiments of the US Army, and Stanton US Army WWII Order of Battle
