    Hi Everyone,

I am hoping that you can help me with this German 12 year long service award, it is very cool, I have checked out all of the measurements for it and think that it is the genuine thing, I had posted a thread on another forum and was advised to post here also, I got another three awards at the same time that I cannot identify and was wondering if anyone could help me. I have posted some photos on the thread, please help me if you can.

    Cheers Andy

    Hi Andy,

Here’s the ID and some info on the last 3 medals in order after the SS long service award:

#1: 2nd Class Eastern Peoples (Ostvolk) Award without Swords.
Which was given by the Germans to Eastern volunteers for acts of bravery (kind of similar to the 2nd class Iron Cross which they were not eligible for)

#2: War Merit Cross 1st Class without Swords (Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1.Klasse ohne Schwerter)
No Swords were for non military personnel.

#3: 1st Class Eastern Peoples (Ostvolk) Award with Swords.
Which like #1 was given to Eastern volunteers by Germany for acts of bravery (the equivalent in prestige to a 1st class Iron Cross which they were not eligible for).

I hope that helps. It’s cool that you’ve got the boxes for all 3.
If you need any other details then let me know.
    Dean

I haven’t seen this one before but I have my doubts on authenticity. Most official Nazi items especially SS were of high quality (defined leaves, strong and perpendicular lines and usually of quality metal. This appears silver coated zinc.this could be very late or post war or civilian issue. Just my opinion.
