Pretty entertaining derailment though lwd. A D-Day movie on the German side would be interesting.....

No need, the old film is fine as it is. It's not perfect, of course, but it's still one of the better war movies of the time and certainly the best of the all-star true history big-battle extravaganzas. Put it next to Bridge Too Far and you'll see what I mean.

Knowing some of the popular tastes it might look like this...

Perhaps it would be a good idea and then the misleading scenes at Pegasus bridge could hopefully be corrected.

The 1979 movie "Breakthrough" sort of covers the German side in Normandy. It is a poorly made sequel to Sam Peckinpah's 1977 classic "The Cross of Iron".

There's also a lame South Korean made movie that is loosely based on the true story of several Korean soldiers who were drafted into the Japanese Army and captured in the 1939 border was with the Rooskies in Manchuria. They then got drafted into the Red Army and got captured by the Germans on the Eastern Front. The Germans drafted them and put them into one of the Ost Battalions. Their unit was posted at either Omaha or Utah beach, can't remember which one. Anyway, they got captured by the Americans there. They didn't get drafted into the US Army this time.

In my opinion, remakes of today seem to disappoint. With all of the CG available, they over do it and botch it up. I also agree, are there any great classic actors available today? So I have to say no to a remake. Maybe a touch up of HD to the original would be good. Wonder if there is a director's cut available with unreleased scenes?

Now that I think about it I'd rather see a new movie even on the same topic than a "remake". For instance there are several movies that could probably be made about PH that weren't remakes of either Tora! Tora! Tora! or that other movie. The same is true of D-day and many others.

I'd have a nervous breakdown if I heard another PH movie was being made.

Now a movie about the Eagle Squadrons would be interesting to me.

I agree with Opana, Pearl Harbor is a little overdone, anything portraying a lesser known part of the war would be fantastic.

Death March of Bataan, made 2008, was the last movie made about the events that took place there. I think a new one would be good, but showing the perspective of all sides would be great in my opinion.

The music score in Breakthrough was annoying and just overall bad. Richard Burton was a great actor but just could not pull off Coburn's Steiner. My two centavos

I agree. Richard Burton always pulls it off in a movie when he’s in a uniform.

They should do a movie about the invasion of southern France. Call it “The Not So Longest Day”.
