Help trying to find out more about Great-Uncle KIA 1943

I am trying to find out more about my great-uncle who was killed October 16, 1943 somewhere in Italy. He was a 2nd lieutenant of the 157th Infantry 43 Division. Recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously).

The Headstone Application has the wrong Division. The 157th Infantry was part of the 45th Infantry Division. The 43rd ID served in the Pacific. Mistakes do happen, but what is unfortunate in this case is that it becomes carved in stone -- literally.

The President of the United States takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) to Jack H. Blumberg (0-438576), Second Lieutenant (Infantry), U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy in action against enemy forces in October 1943. Second Lieutenant Blumberg's intrepid actions, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty at the cost of his life, exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
