NFL 2018

I feel like the NFL thread kinda strayed off the path of the NFL too much, so I'm making a thread just for the 2018 season that began today! I'm pretty excited to be honest, the Eagles are defending Super Bowl champs (Never thought I'd say that for a while!) the Patriots dynasty is coming to an end soon, and the Browns still suck (Maybe not for long though?).

 

Each NFL Teams Greatest Positional Need (Opinion)​

NFC East
Philadelphia Eagles- Coming off their greatest year yet, I honestly can't think of much the Eagles can get better at position wise. They have security at the QB position even if Wentz goes down again (Foles), they have Legarette Blount and Jay Ajayi at running back, they have a good receiver corps, Zach Ertz is a beast, but adding another veteran TE or drafting a second or 3rd rounder would help. The Offensive line is still solid, and it looks like they have Special teams covered, except for Punter which shouldn't keep anyone up at night. The Defense is equally good, The D-Line got way better with Michael Bennett, and keeping Nigel Bradham is a great move. The Secondary is probably the only part of the team I would be remotely worried about at this point, but even then it's not terrible, I expect nothing less than an Eagles return to the SB to defend the title.
Dallas Cowboys- Dak Prescott is the real deal for Dallas. Period. Not having his Prob-bowl back Zeke Elliot, and losing some of his stud offensive linemen didn't help him out, not to mention his WR and TE core is getting old and thin. The Cowboys need to find a good backup for Elliot in case he gets hurt, or God forbid he punches another girlfriend again. Jason Witten is a great guy, and absolutely deserves to be a hall of famer, but it's time the Cowboys upgrade the Tight End position either in the draft or Free agency. Dez Bryant is probably leaving Dallas, or will continue to be less of a factor in Dallas' offense. The Cowboys need more Receiver strength, after that, they're pretty much set on that side of the ball. The Defense is getting better every year, the D-line still needs some help even though Demarcus Lawrence turned the corner this year, Sean Lee and Taco Charlton can be a great linebacking duo, the Secondary though needs help fast, especially in the safety position.
Washington Redskins- Getting rid of Kirk Cousins is probably the biggest mistake this organization has made since.....well ever. Even though they have Alex Smith, I can't imagine this team is going to suddenly become a serious title contender or even a playoff threat. They need a running back, the O-line needs help, the WR and TE position needs help, they need a D-line, and the Linebacking corps is weak. The only real bright spot of this team is it's secondary led by Josh Norman, but a Secondary isn't enough to lift a defense, let alone a whole team, the Skins are in trouble my friends, trouble they easily could have avoided.
New York Giants- There is no excuse this team has a losing record again, regardless of who starts at QB. Eli should have another shot, because I honestly didn't think he played bad last year, losing his whole starting receiver lineup didn't help at all. With Odell, Sheppard, and Marshall coming back and the emergence of Evan Engram at TE, Eli will hopefully have more help this year. The Giants should seriously consider getting Saquon Barkley (If the Browns don't take him first), if they can't get him, then they need draft another back, and find a veteran in Free agency, because big Blue's RB woes are holding the offense back big time. Their D-Line is okay at best, and their Linebacking corps needs help as well, the Secondary despite losing Rogers-Cromartie, is still better than average, they will be better this year, how much better? Who knows.....
AFC East
New England Patriots- The End of the dynasty is upon us, but as long as Brady and Belichick are together, the Patriots will be playoff contenders. The Running back position is still in good shape despite losing Dion Lewis, the WR and TE group is still strong as well. Losing Nate Solder though will not help the O-line one bit, and that's a problem when you're trying to keep Brady upright. The Defense is the reason the Patriots lost the Superbowl, and it will once again be the reason the Patriots lose this year. With Malcom Butler gone, and no real upgrades to the defense as of yet and the departure of Matt Patricia, things on the defensive side of the ball are only going to get worse from here.
Buffalo Bills- The Bills are either going to suck, or mildly surprise this year, I don't agree with how the front office handled Tyrod Taylor, but now they won't have to deal with him ever again, and whoever they sign or draft this year will be their responsibility. The Bills are set with Lesean McCoy, but finding a replacement for him in free agency or the draft should be a priority as he begins to age. The WR and TE corps needs help badly if the Bills want to attract QB's there, the O-line is the area of most concern next to QB with Eric Wood and Cordy Glennn, arguably the teams best O-linemen, leaving. The Defense is in pretty dang good shape, and is probably going to save this team a few games this season while the offense tries to figure things out with whoever is QB. The D-Line is the biggest are for improvement........Ndamokong Suh?
Miami Dolphins- With Ryan Tannehill coming back, the Dolphins should absolutely have a winning season again. The Dolphins unfortunately have gotten rid of the teams best offensive weapons in Jay Ajayi and Jarvis Landry, players they will struggle to find replacements for. The RB's in Miami look promising, but who knows how that will go with a so-so O-line. The WR and TE position now needs a serious boost, but fixing that will take more than a season. The Defense is okay, the secondary and Linebacking Corps getting better each year, if Ndamokung Suh leaves, the D-line is pretty much nonexistent. It will be a while before this team can be considered a contender again, but if done right, they'll be a force to be reckoned with.
New York Jets- The Jets were supposed to go 0-16 last year, that didn't happen (The Browns took over that responsibility instead). The Jets still won't be playoff contenders for another season, but if they figure out the QB position and improve the RB and WR positions they're set. Josh McCown is sticking around after a pretty solid season, and Teddy Bridgewater could very well be the missing piece New York has been looking for. With Matt Forte gone, the Jets need a RB to help out whoever is under-center. More WR strength is also needed. The Defense is getting better, but is far from dominant yet. The D-line and Linebacking corps needs serious help, Jamaal Adams and the secondary is the bright spot this far, and will only get better from here.....hang in there Jet's fans.

 

NFC West
Los Angeles Rams- The Rams went from laughing stock of the NFL too serious Super Bowl Contender in a year. Sean McVay is either a Demi-God or Los Angeles is under a spell of some sort. The Rams have a QB in Jared Goff who I think is Pro-Bowl material, and Todd Gurley who is HOF material. The O-line led by Andrew Whitworth is great for right now, the TE and WR positions could use a boost, but after that the Rams should easily have a Top 3 offense. The Defense should also be in top-5 territory this year, with Aaron Donald sticking around, and the Secondary getting a massive boost in the form of Marcus Peters and Aqib talib (Why a Bronco?! WHY!!) the Rams should cause all sorts of problems on defense. The linebacking Corps with Ogletree leaving though needs a boost as well for the defense to reach legendary status. The Rams I believe have the best chance of Reaching the Superbowl next to the Eagles this year.
San Francisco 49ers- The 49ers better hope Jimmy G is legit, or else the 49ers will be in a deeper dark hole than the Browns have ever been in. The 49ers could very well be in the playoffs this year, I think they will, but I also thought the Raiders would win the AFC west last year........The 49ers signed Jerrick Mckinnon for a ton of money to be the main RB in the bay, which I think is pretty sketchy but so is signing a QB who has only started 7 games. The 49ers need to help Jimmy G out with TE's and WR's, both of which he'll get in Free agency and the draft. The Defense in San Fran is also improving, the secondary got a boost in Richard Sherman formerly of the Seahawks, but they now need help in the D-Line and Reuben Foster the LB might not be the asnwer at LB for the 49ers. I'm more excited about the 49ers now, than I was when they went to the superbowl with Afro-Castro Kaepernick.
Arizona Cardinals- The Cardinals have more questions than answers at this point, which obviously, isn't good. With Carson Palmer gone, and Larry Fitzgerald ready to retire next year, the Cardinals need to form a new identity, starting with David Johnson. As much as Cardinals fans don't want to admit it, the organization is basically rebuilding at this point. They signed Sam Bradford to a 1 year prove it deal, which probably means they're drafting a QB to sit behind Bradford for a year or 2. The TE and WR group desperately needs help, and with not very many options in Free agency, the Cardinals might be bare in those areas for a while unfortunately. The Defense was in a better spot until they released Tyrann Mathieu, arguably the best player on that defense next to Patrick Peterson. The D-line hasn't been the same since Calais Campbell left, but the LB corps looks good with Hasson Reddick and Chandler Jones leading the way. Buddha Baker and Patrick Peterson are the only good things about the secondary for right now. The Cardinals are either going to be awful, or okay, if they made the playoffs this year, I'd be extremely impressed.
Seattle Seahawks- The Seahawks dominant days are over, for now at least. Russel Wilson ran for his life last year and had little to no help from the Running and blocking game last year. If the hawks want to be close to successful this year, they need a better O-line and a better RB, without both, they aren't going anywhere. The Legion of Boom days are gone with the wind as well, but the defense is far from ineffective, they still have a Great linebacking corps led by Bobby Wagner, and the Secondary is till in okay shape with Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor, but no longer do the hawks have a D-line, and chances are pretty good the Seahawks get run over by some RB's this year. It's going to probably be a rough year in Seattle, but as long as Pete Carrol and Russell Wilson are in town, the Hawks have a chance in the future.
AFC West
Kansas City Chiefs- The Chiefs Eagerly getting rid of Alex Smith to be replaced by a rookie, is probably going to make 2018 a pretty rough year for the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes isn't bad from what I've seen, but he won't become Alex Smith overnight. The Chiefs have Kareem Hunt, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill, so they're set on offense for the next few seasons. The Defense however has fallen almost completely apart, they have No D-line, and with the team cutting Derrick Johnson and Marcus Peters, they are going to have a fantastic time finding replacements for these all-pro players. The Chiefs should still be competitive, but as long as the defense has gaping holes like it does now, the Chiefs won't stand a chance against the league's top offense's.
Los Angeles Chargers- The Chargers should have been in the playoffs last year, but a few silly mistakes kept that from happening. Silly mistakes can't be an excuse this year with the talent this team has on both sides of the ball. This will most likely be Phillip Rivers last year, so not blowing this opportunity is crucial. The Chargers offense is getting younger and better each season with Melvin Gordon, Hunter Henry, and Mike Williams. The O-line though still needs help, Phillip Rivers can't take 70 sacks again this year if they want any real chance in the playoffs. The Defense is already a solid group. but the D-line with Joey Bosa could use some help, along with the Safety position as well. The Chargers have no excuse not to at least get a wild card berth this year.
Oakland Raiders- The Raiders organization is at a very precarious moment of their existence right now. They just hired Jon Gruden to a 200 million dollar 10 year contract when the man hasn't coached a snap since 2007. Not to mention this is their last year in Oakland before they go to Las Vegas. Derek Carr is the Franchise QB, he along with the offense has struggled more because of the O-line and playcalling issues. The running game will be a little weak with Marshawn Lynch at the front, and Carr has only a few receiving wideouts to throw too. The O-line as I mentioned needs serious help if this team is going to even be successful this season. The Defense is still not sufficient enough to carry a struggling offense, the D-line is rundown, and the Secondary is among the worst in the NFL. Anything less than a deep playoff run or even a Superbowl appearance will tank this once storied franchise for decades.
Denver Broncos- The Broncos are in a unique spot at the moment, they can either be back to playoff Superbowl contending form, or back in the AFC west cellar again. The O-line is priority #1. It does not matter who the Broncos have at QB, if the line doesn't get better the offense will suck again. Speaking of Qb's the Broncos are taking Case Keenum, so drafting a QB in the 1st round would cause nothing less than a mutiny in Denver with the need for an O-line. The Team has offensive weapons, but a good Tight End would go a long way to help Case under center. The Defense despite losing a few players is still a top 10 defense. The D-line is probably the biggest area of concern right now, but that's something that can be taken care of in the draft and or free agency. If The Broncos manage to have another losing season this year, don't expect to see Vance Joseph and John Elway for a long long time....

 

NFC South
New Orleans Saints- The Saints are in the best spot they've been in since 2009. Drew Brees and company have a very real chance of going to and winning a Superbowl this year. The Offense is borderline unstoppable at this point, so focusing on helping out a young and improving defense is key to making this team a Juggernaut in the Postseason. The D-line with Cameron Jordan could use some help to reach it's full potential, and the linebacking Corps most definitely needs a boost. The Secondary is good, but could also use some help as well. I'm a huge Drew Bree's fan, so if he doesn't walk off in the sunset with another SB title I'll be pretty sad, because quite frankly, this team is more than capable of beating any team in the NFL right now.
Atlanta Falcons- The Superbowl window in Atlanta is closing fast, and if the right decisions are made this off-season, the Dirty Birds should be in the running again this season. The Offense will be more comfortable with Sarkisian's system this season, and the Defense has remarkably lost very few players to free agency. Finding more players to boost the Secondary and D-line will go a long way too helping the Falcons defense reach the next level and dominance it should be at right now. In my opinion, Dan Quinn should have been fired the day after his Superbowl fiasco, but if they don't reach the big game again, it's time for the organization to cut it's losses and move on.
Carolina Panthers- The Panthers SB window has probably already closed, the team has proven time and again that it can't function in big games, with or without it's key players. It's a shame to see Cam Newton's and Greg Olsen's careers waste away in Carolina without a Lombardi Trophy. The Offense with either reach it's 2015 form again, or will be among the worst in the NFL, Christian McCaffrey is undoubtedly going to be called a draft bust if he doesn't produce a 1500 yard overall season. The Receiver corps is not what ti used to be, but should still be effective. The Defense is getting old and withering away with each passing season. After Seeing Kawann Short and Star Lotuleilei leave Carolina, the Panthers D-line is in big trouble. The Linebacking Corps is great when healthy, but that's just it, it never really is anymore. The Secondary still sucks royally, and is probably the second biggest priority on this team to fix. If The Panthers manage to make a deep Playoff run this season, it would be nothing short of a miracle.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers- The Fact the Buccs haven't made it to the playoffs yet is a testament to how bad the coaching situation is down their. Dirk Koetter should have been fired last year, but he's getting one more chance. The Buccs have a Franchise QB in Jameis Winston, and a developing pass game, but the Run game needs help, and fast. The O-line could also use an upgrade to ensure Jameis doesn't get his head knocked off again this season. The Defense is the part of the team that is the biggest mystery, it has the talent to be a top 10 defense yet was 22nd overall last year (Coaching again). The D-line with Gerald McCoy should be one of the best in the NFL, the Linebacking Corps is also pretty good, the Secondary is the area that needs the most improvement, don't be surprised if you see Tampa Draft a Cornerback or Safety again this year.
AFC South
Jacksonville Jaguars- To the dismay of almost all Jags fans, the team is keeping Bortles around for the long term. The Team showed what it could do on defense last year being the 1st overall defense. The Offense is the area of biggest concern now. Allen Robinson, the teams best receiver. is gone, which doesn't help Blake out at all, and the teams O-line is still young and learning. The Running game will be better with Leonard Fournette, but for Bortles to lead the offense with any success he needs receiving help fast. This Team can be a legit SB contender, but if they don't figure things out on offense, this team isn't going anywhere near the big game.
Tennessee Titans- It's safe to say the Titans win over the Chiefs in last seasons play off game was more of a fluke than actual dominance from the Titans. This team has the potential to be great, but poor coaching has held them back for years now. Marcus Mariota is the franchise QB, and despite cutting Demarco Murray, Derrick Henry and newly signed Dion Lewis will be a huge help. The Receiving game is getting better, led by Corey Davis and Delaine Walker, the O-line has the potential to be a top-5 in the league, which it should be this year. The Defense is also improving, the D-line is actually not too bad, and the Secondary is pretty formidable, the Linebacking corps could use some help for sure. The Titans absolutely should make a playoff run again this year, only that this time it won't be a fluke.
Houston Texans- Texans fans, the time has come, Houston is a playoff bound, potentially even SB bound team in the future. After searching for years the Texans have a QB in Deshaun Watson, a solid Run game, a great receiving corps, and a top-5 defense ready to break free. However, the team's O-line desperately needs help if Deshaun Watson wants to play upright this year, and the running game wants a chance. The Texans only need on Defense is finding a replacement for Brian Cushing the LB. The Texans should in my opinion dethrone the Jags this year, simply because they have a great defense, and a QB not named Blake Bortles.
Indianapolis Colts- I hate to be Johnny raincloud, but the Colts likely have wasted the best QB talent of the decade in Andrew Luck. This team even with the ultra-talented Luck, is far from a legitimate contender, and has the worst defense in the NFL by far. The Colts need a Run game, a better Receiver corps, a much better D-line, and a Coach who actually knows how to coach. That's alot to ask for, and I'm sorry to say I don't think the Colts can get it done quickly enough. Did I already mention that Andrew Luck might actually never play again because of the extent of his shoulder injury, I didn't? Oh well there you go, cheers to being the worst in the AFC South!!

 

NFC North
Minnesota Vikings- After securing Kirk Cousins to a 3 year 84 million dollar contract, there is no reason the Vikings shouldn't be the dominant team in the NFC North for the next 5 years. They have a Running game with Dalvin Cook, a solid o-line, and a pretty good cast at the TE and Receiver positions. The Defense is equally dominant in just about every aspect. The D-line is very formidable with Everson Griffen and Linval Joseph, and the Linebacking Corps is equally potent with Anthony Barr and Eric Hendricks. The Secondary is by far the best part of the defense being strong in both the Cornerback and Safety positions. I see a Potential Lombardi Trophy in Minnesota's future....
Detroit Lions- Poor Matthew Stafford hasn't really gotten a whole lot of help from his TE and RB friends for the last few years. However, if these two positions are improved, the Lions could easily have a top 10 offense this season. The Defense is another story unfortunately, while not terrible, improvements need to be made for people to take this team seriously. The D-line is okay, Ezekiel Ansah is the only real reason it's not flat out bad, the Linebacker group is also just okay, and the Secondary is so-so as well. For this team to make it to the next level one of the three defensive sectors needs to get really good, fast.
Green Bay Packers- Last season showed that the Packers without Aaron Rogers are just plain awful. The Packers are one of the few teams in the NFL that should invest time and money to find a good backup QB if something happens to Rogers, because this team has become overly reliant on the QB position. The O-line needs to improve and the Running game is still far from what it needs to be. Aaron Rogers has been making miracles happen with average and below average receivers, with Jordy Nelson now gone, Rogers is now without his favorite receiver. The Problem for the Packers is that their defense is just as barren with talent. The D-line and Linebacking corps are the only positions that are not of immediate concern at the moment, but the Secondary is horrible. It's sad to say that the G.O.A.T will be wasting away his career with only one Superbowl win, when he would have 3 or 4 if he went anywhere else.
Chicago Bears- The Bears are finally starting to turn the corner, and getting rid of Cutler and drafting Mitchell Trubisky 2nd overall is looking like a smart move. They Have Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen, two very dynamic RB's. With the Addition of Trey Burton, Taylor Gabriel, and Allen Robinson, the Bears have a vastly improved Receiving Corps for Trubisky to work with. The defense is getting better, but it still has many holes to fill in just about every part of the defense for this team to make the final leap to playoff contention.
AFC North
Pittsburgh Steelers- The end of the Roethlisberger, Bell, and Brown age is coming upon us soon, this might be the last year all three play together. While many claim that when these 3 are on the field simultaneously, the Steeler's are unstoppable, that simply isn't true. The Steelers are much more complex than that, and even if all three players are healthy and playing at their best, the steel city's defense can't stop anybody right now. The defense hasn't been the same since Ryan Shazier went down, and even with im, they were far from an imposing defense. The D-line needs a serious boost, and revamping the secondary is a must as well. The Steelers aren't going anywhere in the postseasson, no matter who they add or cut from the team.
Baltimore Ravens- For Baltimore, this year is a defining season. If things go south, you can kiss the John Harbaugh/ Joe Flacco era goodbye for good. Lets be honest here, this team hasn't been the same since Ray Lewis retired and Ray Rice was expelled from the league. The Offense hasn't found an answer at RB or TE for years now. The WR position since Steve Smith Sr left has been anything but productive. Even Flacco had one of the worst seasons of his career last year, when he has arguably the best line he's ever had. The defense is the sole hope of this team anymore, a top 10 defense last season, the Ravens are only going to get better on that side of the ball. The D-line is alright, the Linebacking group is slightly above average, but the secondary is one of the best in the league right now. The Ravens only chance of making it to the playoffs lies with the defense.
Cincinnati Bengals- The Bengals season is already over. How is that possible? They brought back Marvin Lewis, a headcoach who has done nothing but bring regular season success (Mostly) and postseason failure. The fact he still has a job amazes me beyond belief. The Bengals aren't getting any better, and I wouldn't be wholly surprised if we see a full scale re-build take place in the near future. I highly, highly doubt this team has a chance at making the playoffs this year, which is sad considering how much talent they do have, but injuries and poor coaching has screwed over this team. Position of need.............Coaches.
Cleveland Browns- While things aren't looking great for the Browns division rivals, it seems like things are finally beginning to look up for the down trodden franchise. The Browns aquired Tyrod Taylor, Jarvis Landry, and a few other solid players to build around already. They have two first round draft picks that should be used to take the Running back prospect of the decade, Saquon Barkley, and a QB (Sam Darnold). The Offense is getting considerably better even without the draft, and the defense is as solid as it was in 2007 when the browns last had a winning record. The Browns could very well be division champs in a years time if things go according to plan in Ohio, for right now building a team, and more importantly confidence is priority #1.

 

I'm a little late for this, but I have here my predictions for all 32 teams this year, and playoff predictions as well. Feel free to add your two sense, and critique at will!

NFC North
The NFC North will be more competitive this year than it's ever been. The Vikings are reaching, if not exceeding the hype the 1998 team that should have gone to the SB, received. Kirk Cousins is the player Minnesota needs to go over the top, but I don't think this year is the year they hoist the Lombardi. The Packers actually managed to improve in the off season, and when you have Aaron Rogers, you're going to be competitive no matter what. The Bears have a solid offense, and are in the process of trying to rebuild a "1985 esque" defense with the addition of Khalil Mack. The Lions are a total mystery at this point, on paper, they have serious potential, but we will have to wait and see what they can do......
Minnesota Vikings- (11-5) (13-3) (9-7)
Green Bay Packers- (10-6) (12-4) (8-8)
Chicago Bears- (9-7) (11-5) (7-9)
Detroit Lions- (8-8) (10-6) (6-10)

NFC East
The home of the SB champ Eagles, has actually changed quite a bit in the last few months. Carson Wentz has yet to be cleared to play, so as we saw tonight, Nick Foles started (and actually played well), and there are plenty of other question marks about the teams ability to defend the title. The Cowboys are seemingly getting back on the right track, Zeke is back, which will most definitely improve Dak's play, which will improve the offense, which will allow the defense to rest, which will make the team better overall. The Giants are better on paper this year, than they were last year, but in a division like this, it would be impressive to see big blue make it to the postseason, yes, even with Barkley. The Redskins already lost their RB1 Derrius Guice to an ACL tear, so now they're depending on the 34 year old Alex Smith, the 35 year old Vernon Davis, and the 33 year old Adrian Peterson to lead the offense........oh boy.........

NFC South
The South had the potential to be similar to the North in competitiveness, and then Jameis Winston groped an Uber driver.......The Falcons lost their first game tonight against the SB champ Eagles,(not what I predicted!), but I still see them making a deep playoff run. The Saints will thrive once more this season, even without Mark Ingram for the first 4 weeks. The Panthers are a huge question mark, but I'm waxing positive that they'll return to possibly playoff form. The Buccaneers are screwed already, without Winston for 3 weeks, the Bucc's will have to work with Ryan Fitzpatrick (who actually graduated at my same high school, met him once too!), even with Winston this team is poorly led, and lacking depth.......
Atlanta Falcons- (12-4) (14-2) (10-6)

NFC West
The West is certainly wild this year, but not in the way you would hope. The Rams are virtually guaranteed to win the division this year, as they possess the most talented roster football has seen since the 2016 Falcons, I even have them as this years SB champs. The 49ers are going to come back to earth this year, but I believe Jimmy G is the real deal, and that San Fran has reason to hope. The Card's are not quite rebuilding, but they're in rough shape. Sam Bradford would be lucky to make it halfway through the season. The Seahawk's are no longer a threat, not even in their own division anymore, it's a sad time to be Seattle sports fan, at least for now......
Los Angeles Rams- (13-3) (15-1) (11-5)

AFC North
There might be a changing of the guard in the NFC North after this season, and this year will show who might be the eventual king. The Steeler's are no longer Super bowl worthy, they will have a hard enough time being playoff worthy as it is. Depending on how the season goes, this could very well be the last year we see the Flacco/ Harbaugh combo ever again, but the Ravens won't be push overs. The Bengals are going to be the perfect model of mediocrity and disappointment. The Browns are producing almost as much hype as the Lakers are right now.....times are a changing in the NFC North...

AFC East
Unlike most of the NFL lately, the AFC East has changed little over the last few years, that might change after this year. The Patriots, until proven otherwise, remain to be not only the AFC East king's, but the AFC's as well. The Dolphins get a motivated and healthy Ryan Tannehill, which can only be a good thing, but they're still missing many key pieces that will hold them back. The Jets might have actually found there first franchise QB since the glory days of Namath, and the team itself has improved overall. The Bills are going to be the AFC version of the Bucc's, a rather talented team with QB issues, and a serious lack of depth........

AFC South
The AFC South is the AFC's version of the NFC North, very competitive, and totally unpredictable. The Texans are a legitimate SB contender with the return of Watson and Watt, an of course a solid overall team with great depth. The Jags will either be proud of their decision to keep Bortles, or will be haunted forever. It's as simple as this, Bortles play's well, the Jags are SB material, he play's poorly, they miss the playoffs. The Titans are a really talented team, now it;s up to Mike Vrabel to make them eventual SB contenders. The Colts are going to suck with or without Luck, and I would be frankly amazed if Andrew Plays at the level he did before the shoulder injury.....

AFC West
I would like to say I saved the best for last, but that's simply not true. Every team in this division is either slightly above mediocrity, mediocre, or slightly below mediocre. The Chargers have the most outside confidence to win the division, but injuries and stupid mistakes might prevent that from happening......again. The Chiefs might have a QB in Pat Mahomes, but they have almost no defense anymore. The Broncos are a total mystery, and it all comes down to whether the defense can return to SB form, and if Case Keenum can repeat his Minnesota Magic. The Raiders made either one of the best trades in NFL history, or the worst, either way, the Raiders are going to be bad this season.....

I feel bad for you good sir..........and I'm a Broncos fan, moving away from the place that embraced the Raiders 100%, and letting there best defensive talent since Charles Woodson go is pretty terrible to handle simultaneously.......I think Del Rio would have kept Mack, but he would still get fired.......

Poor Oakland. They have lost their beloved Raiders, not once, but twice in less than 40 years.

What I like about NFL fans, is that they really seem to respect other teams and other teams fans. At least this is the impression I get from this side of the pond. And from discussions such as these, and prediction league to which I belonged to for about 7 years.
Sadly, the same can not be said of UK soccer fans. Man Utd & Liverpool's rivalry seems to be especially vitriolic.

 

I would “think” that the Eagles would get to the playoffs, baring any more crucial injuries and Carson Wentz returning in a few weeks. Hopefully Foles can return to his Super Bowl form in the coming weeks, but the jury is still out on that. But, the bottom line is that Wentz should be 100% cleared to play before he returns, no matter how much the fans want to see him back. The Eagles have one of the best, if not the best defenses in the NFL, and with Nigel Bradham returning this Sunday at middle linebacker they should continue to give opposing offenses a rough time. Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is missed and “could” return as late as early October. Since I got an Eagles Super Bowl Champions Jacket, I am looking forward to wearing it at the two games I will be attending on September 23 and October 21. But, sometimes I enyoy the tailgating as much as the game. The older I get, (73) the long walk from the parking lot to the stadium, at a fast pace, doesn’t get any easier. And even though there is an escalator to get up to my level, those 22 steps straight up to my seat isn’t getting any easier either.

Possibly, but the same with the Cowboys and Redskins. Our group is nice and respectful. But with 98,000 fans and the beer flowing freely, by the fourth quarter, some of the fans have really gained a reputation for being rather rough to visiting fans, to say the least. Both inside and outside after the game, fights break out. They have been verbally abused also. I remember one instance a few years ago when the Seattle Seahawks were visiting and two very nice girls were sitting next to us with those little removable team tattoos on their cheeks. They were Seahawk’s fans. They got heckled so much by the Eagle’s fans behind them that they got up and left for other seats or had to stand somewhere. I felt sorry for them.

 

Drunk NFL Fans are usually different from Sober ones, truly most fan bases are pretty modest, the California fan bases are scarier just because of the shady characters who attend said games.....

 

After spending $141M on one player, the Bears are still the Bears. They couldn't beat Green Bay who was fielding a one-legged Aaron Rodgers. Some things never change.

Even though I am an Eagles fan and live about 2 1/2 hours from Philadelphia and like Aaron Rogers as a person, I did feel sorry for the Bears. I watched the entire game last night.

 

I think a lot of your predictions are already off to a bad start.

Certainly looks like the Denver Donkeys will be riding their defense again and will be a .50 team. I really wanted the Seacows to win that game!
If Da Bears can get an offense going, they could surprise a few people.
And Cleveland didn't lose! They din't win either, but they've already improved upon last season.

A few teams seemed pretty flat out of the gate too. I think you're highly overrating the Rams.

Time to see what my J-E-T-S can do against the Lions. Interested to see Darnold in his first start. Wish there were more offensive weapons, but as a Jet, wishing is the norm these days.

 

Losing like that will always be terrible.....but losing to IMO the 3rd greatest QB of all time in said fashion, makes it a little less painful. The Bears didn't play bad, and Khalil Mack was a one man wrecking crew at first, the Bears just made small mistakes in the second half that cost them the game.

Denver Donkey's! What an insult coming from a New York Cropduster fan! I kid, that's one I haven't heard in a while . While the Broncos didn't play well, the Seahawks played worse, they aren't going anywhere this year. I think the Rams are as good as they look, at the very worst they will go 11-5 I believe, the Jets season will be a success so long as Darnold is, the guy.
