    Hello everyone, I just recently watched the Longest Day, and noticed something I have never understood, or knew what it was. What is that thing on the top of American helmets, not the camo, but the base square looking thing? I can't believe I haven't asked before today, but I finally want to get that cleared up! Thanks for any answers
