hello, Herr Marshal 1945 reporting for duty, this my first post, i'm a amateur history wiz on ww2 and many other events, i just finished the whole cutscenes from Battlefield 5's the Last Tiger, besides the fanboying on the Tiger 1, it got me thinking, on the wehrmacht only, not the ss, waffen ss, hitler or any other nazi party leader, were they determined to fight off the invading allies at the cost of their own nation. i know many wehrmacht officers were discontent with the leadership but because of the failed operation valkyrie the previous year the officers would have been purged or kept silent. with valkyrie in mind, how fanatical were the last units of the wehrmacht on the third reich's dying grip, would they have preferred to just be killed of entirely with their nation burned to the ground. also another thing to bear mind is the battle of castle itter when anti-nazi wehrmacht units sided with the americans against a waffen-ss unit.

Hello Marshal, before I start answering any of your questions, the creators of Battlefield are not concerned about being historically accurate, and that can be seen throughout the game, and the war story the Last Tiger. With that in mind, there are a few things I think BFV got right in "The Last Tiger". The last few months of the war in Europe saw the German military beginning to crumble and collapse. The vast majority of German soldiers did not want to die and continue fighting for a cause and war they knew couldn't be won, but there were plenty of fanatical Germans who preferred dying with and for the third-Reich. The Germans fighting the western Allies surrendered in droves, knowing that they would be treated well and released back to their families and homes soon. The Germans fighting against the Soviets sometimes fought on (even to the death) to protect their families and cities from the Soviets, who raped, plundered, and destroyed just about everything and everyone in their path, those who surrendered, sometimes never returned anyway. Most Germans by 1945 realized that the war could not be won, and many were tired of the lies and deceit given by the NSDAP, and some as you mentioned, (battler of castle Itter) fought the fanatical Germans in hopes of ending things sooner. Don't know how many of your questions I answered, but hopefully this is slightly helpful.

Not all games follow the historical truth. Game world is fictional anyway. There might be some details based on true characters or true events. But, not all of them are true. In case of this game, everything is the same. Even when games are designed based on comics or books (you can find those games on top1apk), all events in games depend on players' choice, not the truth.
