Free Codes for New Audibook on Submarine Service During WW II

Hello! My name is Bill. I am the son of a World War II Veteran, born in the last year of the Baby Boomer Generation in the United States (1963).

My father was an American citizen who served with the Canadian Sixth Army, Essex Scottish Regiment, which was sent to England to guard the beaches against German invasion following the collapse of the British Expeditionary Force in France and its evacuation from Dunkirk. He would be captured during Operation Jubilee, better known as the Raid at Dieppe, France, in August of 1942. He somehow managed to survive the war in a series of POW Camps before he was finally liberated following The Long March near Hamburg, Germany in April, 1945. He passed when I was very young. My brother and I were not old enough to hear about his experiences, and most veterans were not ready to open up about it in 1972.

I'm here because I am an audiobook narrator and producer and just wrapped up my latest project, a tribute to my father. It's called Silent Warriors: Submarine Warfare in the Pacific. His service gave him access to multiple WW II sub veterans during countless reunions through the decades, and it's clear that some of those stories he heard have made it into the book. In other words, it's just too incredible to be made up.

Photo below is that, we believe, of my father during his capture on the beaches of Dieppe, France. He never made it off the beach. We were told that he and several other survivors took refuge behind a tank that had been destroyed at the water's edge. I would not realize the extent of his bravery or sacrifice until decades after he had passed. Thus the reason for this audiobook effort. It's my very small way of paying tribute to him.
