I am the one in the family that is so passionate about painting his story. He was in the 115th Regiment Company B. Any help would be awesome!

The more info you give us to start with the faster and easier it will be for people to help. It will also avoid duplication of info you already have. Since this is an international forum indicating whose army he was in is a good start.

The 29th ID, which contained the 115th IR, took Vire on August 7th. I wonder if he might have been wounded in the days prior, then passed on August 8th?

29th ID, Regiment 115th. According to the 29th History he was KIA south of Vire on August 8. I have reached out to Geoff at Arrow Research to start digging as well. I don't have much more info.

    29th Division
    115th IR
    Company B

I am not a military history buff, so excuse if I get the lingo wrong. I am just learning.

Can you tell us where he was from? Reaching out to Golden Arrow is a smart move. He is able to access information not available to us.

Oddly, I could find no mention of him on Fold3 or findagrave. Maybe others will have better luck. Golden Arrow still seems like your best bet.
