I won this photo on eBay. The seller said it is Panzerjägers w/ PAK 36 3.7cm Gun on the Atlantic Coast of France. It is clearly a staged shot. 3.7 cm Pak 36 - Wikipedia Scanned at 1200 dpi and resized to 1200 width to post here. Dave
Hi. There is a problem regarding the designation. Following the author of the old german magazine "Waffen Revue", which was quite famous for accurate source finding and publication, the official designation was "3,7 cm Pak" or "3,7 cm Pak Rheinmetall" only. He wasn´t able to find any official documents using "3,7 cm Pak 36". So I think "Pak 36" is either a designation used by frontline troops only or an allied or post-war invention. Any other thoughts or primary sources? Yours tom!
If it was an error, it was a very common one. Most references to German guns include the year, such as: Pak 38, 40, 43 Flak 36, 38, 41 KwK 37, 38, 39, 40 etc.
