Hello and thanks for signing me up! Let me answer the requested questions first: 1. Your Name and Forum Member Name: Jack 2. Age: 53 3. Origins: USA -- I was assembled for service by Uncle Sam. Discharged in 2014. 4. Historical Interest: I have been an avid reader of history for most of my life. While I've read a number of books related to WW II in the past, just recently I've started taking a more dedicated look at WW II. I'm currently reading To Hell and Back: Europe 1914-1949 by Ian Kershaw. I have Martin Gilbert and John Kegan lined up to read next. I read the Kegan history many years ago, but thought I should go back through it. 5. Hobbies: Fishing, Hiking, Shooting.....and reading! 6. Miscellaneous: Both my grandfathers served in WW II, but I never knew them. I'm very sorry not to have learned more from them and captured some of their oral history. I had a chance to visit the National WWII museum in New Orleans last year. It was a very enjoyable visit. I thought the museum was a bit limited in some ways and I hope to see it grow. Nevertheless, it's a great excuse for a trip to the Big Easy! Again, thanks for having me!

Thank you, Gordon! (I see you are in Stirling. I've visited there a couple of times. Wonderful area, great people!)
I appreciate the warm welcome. I've already learned several things here and found a few nice book recommendations--this forum is going to keep me busy, I think!
